zephroThat's really helpful, thanks. I do have some FOMO, but I guess its nigh on impossible to see everything in this game anyway. I'm quite happy with the Bard tbh. Without meaning to, I seem to be a bit of a jack of all trades.

I feel like I must be coming towards the end of Act2.
If I do a second playthrough, which as a trophy whore I will need to, I guess it will go quicker as I will have an idea of what to do/where to go. Switching from easy to hard might be a bit of a jolt though.

Is the level cap really just 12? I’m already at 3 right at the start? I’m guessing it gives you the first few relatively easily.

It gets slower and you won't reach the cap before the last act.

The whole level cap thing worried me a little before I played, but I think (still only in Act 1) that the level pacing is spot on. Gaining a level feels meaningful and the little spikes you get at level 4 and 5 give you a good enough boost that you still get that “I have become raw power!” feeling that RPGs demand.

This game has no dud quests. Every single thing I’ve done has been great and required me to focus. I was not expecting the combat to be so enjoyable either.

Loving this. 5 hours have flown by. Evokes strong, fond memories of when I was on the dole and spent weeks and weeks playing Dragon Age.

Did my first fight with a band of humans this evening which was very satisfying. I tried earlier but failed first time. Second time, I changed my tactics a little and then noticed an environmental set piece to interact with and did the bastards. It was very satisfying working the environment to my advantage. Delightful.

Ugh. I'm getting sick of Balthazar. It doesn't help that I don't have any elixirs that protect against poison. There's a tadpole power that makes the enemy vulnerable to all damage. It's a game changer! |

I did a huge fight against a lot of undead last night.
Retreating through a door and then using wall of fire and Glyph of warding made it so much easier despite their resistance to damage.

Thanks for the tips. I've been avoiding the tadpole power as it says gives them health for each hit + males them vulnerable, so it seemed like a double edged sword. The same for it's counterpart that gives you a buff but damages your health each turn. Didn't seem particularly useful. In my latest try, I almost used polymorph but the hit chance was quite low. Using it to start combat might be worth a try. |

I really wish they would give more explanation to the reason behind the percentage chances. You can work some of it out from the status effects shown under the health bar, but it would be useful to get a bit more detail to be able to work out what you can actually do to improve low hit chances.

It's related to armour class and saving throws on the target side, and attack bonus and spell attack DC on the attacker side. Plus the theoretical roll of 1d20. |

Successfully defended the Last Light Inn from some guy called FIST MARCUS, that was pretty epic and fun! Fuck that guy and his evil minions.
So far this is the best RPG I've ever played, without doubt. Possible the best game full stop, although I might be getting carried away.
In an alternate universe I would love a Larian Cyberpunk game.

Same, wouldn't mind giving real DnD a go at some point (or other RPG systems). I've not picked up starter sets or anything, but occasionally watch some games on YouTube (watching Clear Skies at the mo, a Star Trek Adventures one). Don't know anyone that plays though and doubt there are any groups around me in the small town I live in. Rarely get a chance to play any board games, let alone something that requires the kind of dedication that a tabletop RPG would need.
