On SX it’s all minor and lower end gripes for me. Couple of crashes, slight wobble on some textures occasionally - the mountain the background at Kyone is a bit SNES’y. Main one is the number of tracks, but as long as they keep adding like they say they will I’ll accept that. It is a bit annoying given the extended break, even allowing for Covid, but it seems like that’s the way these days. It helps that the handling is just so much fun, online seems to work, the sound is good and my word it’s pretty when it nails it.
Edit - the paucity of online races is also annoying. Only 5 options is an odd choice. I get they’re probably not allowing a free for all to keep the lobbies full, but c’mon, 5?

I'm still having my DLSS cut out randomly, although it seems less frequent recently. Enjoying the handling, just need to put some time in and get some cooler cars. Spoke too soon. DLSS gone more often than not tonight. Hopefully they patch it soon.

They should do what Cyberpunk just did and hire Idris Elba to narrate a DLC trailer and say the game is fixed, but really they haven’t fixed it.

The one fix I'd like above all else is for the wheel animations during replays. When your car is braking before a corner the wheels immediately stop turning. It looks absurd.
I don't even know how this is even a bug. I've never noticed anything like it in well over 2 decades of 3D racing games.
I'd also like it if the game defaulted your fuel load to the required laps for the practice session or event. Why would I ever want to carry 20 laps of fuel into a 7 lap race?... Something all the CPU opponent cars do, bizarrely.

Nope, re the last page- genuinely do mean it looks last gen. Actual last gen at times. Blocky, low poly, low detail and flat colours. Whether you see the same will depend on the exact platform, but here it is nonetheless. luckily, the handling saves it.

Two crashes today when trying to save upgrades that has deleted my practice laps and race progress for the same long race twice. Fed up.
Having said that, it was Grand Oak in the light rain progressing to a storm - not been that impressed by weather effects since the Toca Touring Cars demo on Ps1 back in the day.

I’ve only NOT lost progress when choosing exit just after loading into a new track in a series. Exiting after practice loses it every time for me, plus the crashing obvs.

Have had none of the issues that some of you seem to be having. My experience has been flawless so far on Series X.
My biggest complaint is the AI steadfastly sticking to their line if you’re in their path or not. Overtaking cleanly is near on impossible unless on a straight. On one hand it is entirely predictable what they’re going to do but should you pass under braking the bastard is always just going to turn in on you regardless.

The Motorsport games have always been a mixed bag visually. With the right track, car, race conditions and time of day they can look stunning at times. But most of the time they're sterile looking to a fault for my money. The move to real time lighting hasn't helped matters either.
On the subject of the PC version, my brother also bailed and played on his Series X instead, said it was unplayable on PC, crashing often enough to genuinely hinder progress, he gave up after a while.

Aka a Series S.
Another crash just now, I know I’ll have lost the latest progress when I boot back up, so I didn’t bother.
A patch this week apparently, my God it’s needed.

Tbf the Series S version is definitely a last gen version which is quite disappointing when it's supposed to be restricted to one generation. The Series X and pc versions are a different beast though.

So this game on Series X has f*cking made me start race 3 of track specials in the Builder’s Cup for the fourth time. The third time, I completed the entire series so I’ve lost 5 entire races. I’m putting this on ice until a patch.

If that’s the very best they could wring out of the S then I actually think they made the correct call (and I’ll stop moaning)- the LOD falls off alarmingly fast, for a game where you need to stare into the distance, but the immediate detail of the cockpit etc is decently smooth and aliased, you have the weather effects which are ace and lighting flicking across the dash as you pass lights. And the framerate’s very solid which might be most important of all, they just clearly chopped away at the “fidelity” basics in order to get some of the fancy stuff in too. It’s fine, plays great.

The s version should at least look as good as the last Forza though, is that not the case?

I do not understand why the game doesn't seem to save after you do the practice laps, that would make a lot of sense to me rather than apparently tying them in to the race proper. Sometimes you do practice and then life gets in the way. Going back to then redo that practice is dull (even if you seem to keep your previous levelling up).
I can't put my finger on it but it doesn't feel like a Forza Motorsport game to me. It's decent enough but it feels hollow the more I play it (I play single player - always have so I know I miss out on some parts).

I've downloaded this but haven't tried it yet. After reading all this I think I'll wait till they patch the shit out of it.

Track racing games always look a bit sterile, just like real racing does. I think it's hard to make them exciting looking due to the subject matter. I think Codemasters do quite well in that area tbf. Yeah I think that's spot on. I enjoyed my time with GT7 but the career mode got a little tiresome towards the end. I've played a bit of Forza, and it feels pretty nice, but the career looks a little bit dull, like GT7.

I haven't lost any progress yet luckily (Series X) but I've experienced a few crashes.
During gameplay, the game is solid as a rock, but the menus, loading animations, and pre-race views of the track all stutter into existence. It all feels really unstable.
There's also an issue loading in the correct high quality assets during replays. In one replay, an entire section of road surface failed to load for the entire replay, leaving a black chasm in the track.
I don't think any of these things are addressed in yesterday's patch, although reading the patch notes, it seems there were more pressing matters.
