There are pirates later on too that you have to switch weapons for. Or at least I assume you have to, as every other weapon outside of their weakness just bounced off. Those are a real pain. Especially when you have multiple of them in the same room (where I ended up yesterday...) |

I went ahead and bought, still wasn't sure I'd made the right choice, re: memory vs reality, until I started it up and... That title screen with that music. I grinned.

Found an option in settings last night to swap the controls for switching visors and switching beams, so you switch beams with the dpad, and visors with X+dpad I found I was switching beams way more and this makes it a lot easier to do in combat Apologies if this has already been discussed I wish I had discovered this sooner! My biggest gripe with this version of the game! It would make the Phazon Mines much simpler. |

Also, if you're like me and aren't too bothered about getting all the upgrades, there is actually another way to get the additional endings for the game. watching them on YouTube FFS! Wish I hadn't looked at that. Now I know that there's a Google owned streaming service out there. Thanks a fucking bunch. |

Well, I got past the "large source of Phazon found on a mobile source" yesterday. That was quite annoying, but very satisfying when I figured out how to take it down without too much hassle. Funny how I couldn't remember this bit from the GC. I do remember the final boss (and failing to beat it - something that will be corrected soon  ) |

I am re-discovering my l4m3r status!!
Really struggling with the timing of the double bomb jump in that spot in Magmoor Caverns where you need to do three to get up to an energy tank. And failure means you drop down into the lava.
I've done double bomb jumps plenty of times, and have made it to the third one in this sequence, and then fuck it up by putting the third bomb too high.
Bah!

Just do it in time to the beat, yo.
Should also be easier in theory if you use the jump (X or Y) instead of bombs to launch as that won't destroy the block you start on.

Yeah, use the jump button. Jump, plant a bomb just before your jump peaks (I think) and you should fall back onto it on the way down, triggering your only bomb jump.
This is arguably the hardest tank to get in the original, but a breeze on Switch (When you realise you can jump in the morph ball).

Always been there. Technically, it is an addition from the Metroid Prime Trilogy, which retro-fitted the MP3 controls in MP and MP2, including a flick of the Wiimote which made the Morph Ball jump without using a bomb. It's nice to see it was not left out in this remake.

I think you have to get a specific morph ball upgrade before you can jump. I couldn't for a while until u got an upgrade. Possibly the boost one.

I think it's just the bomb upgrade that unlocks it. You can do it in the opening section, which doesn't have the boost upgrade.

First proper attempt at the end boss yesterday. I never reached the 2nd stage back then, but I did now (so that's new  . I think I've figured out how to get through the first phase without taking too much damage (that part at least isn't as bad a Meta Ridley). |

You got this! Honestly, if you have the energy tanks, you can just unleash the strongest attacks you have without worrying about dodging too much. Just learn to anticipate when to use the morph ball and you'll be sorted.
