Reqs can't be too high, isn't it coming out on last gen consoles after all?
It's also Deck Verified, so you know, no way it requires a RX 470 just for 720p and 30fps.

If this is the HP Legacy thingy, I'll be looking out for how it does on the PS4, as I intend to get it for the stepdaughter. She's not exactly a "pro gamer" and wouldn't care about the performance, she will just want to be in that world.

It's supposed to be coming on switch as well isn't it?
The pc specs baffle me with all the low end targets it's supposed need to hit, especially the 4gb vram.
I also think this is the revised one as the previous ball park put the minimum requiring a 1060. Maybe it's just another Gotham knights shitshow.

Haha OMFG I've just seen the column on the right. DirectStorage is a Win11 requirement. I don't know if I was ever in but I'm certainly not now.
It smells like the engine is heavily PS5 focused and instead of developing to scale they've just said let's pretend that pc hardware is the exactly the same and brute force it, potatoes be damned

I mean I'm not surprised at those specs for Forspoken really, I think it's the Luminous Engine isn't it which I remember Square found extremely difficult to use effectively and this is the last game to use as they focus on UE only. As mentioned it does feel like brute force specs also yeah, in what world is a 6800XT the same as a 4080?! And 3070 at 1440p 30fps, hahaha fucking jokers.

The Forspoken PC requirements aren't quite as surprising when you consider the PS5 version drops as low as 720p and 1080p in the performance and quality modes respectively.
Performance is a shitshow across the board really.

On the subject of Hogwarts Legacy, I think it has huge potential, but can't shake that nagging feeling it's going to be absolutely bobbins.
Avalanche Software (not to be confused with Avalanche Studios) only really have Disney tie-in shovelware to their name over the last two decades. Although the Toy Box mode from Toy Story 3 was great, me and my son had tons of fun on that quite recently actually.

Nomura’s team seems to prefer Unreal, but the main FF teams still use what’s essentially an evolution of FFXIII’s Crystal Tools. |

Think some reviews went up a bit early, thought the embargo was 12pm. Early signs are good, give it a few hours though.
Can be played on Xbox now if you have the Deluxe Edition and visit your aunt in New Zealand.

I pre-ordered the Xbox version for the girlfriend along with a Series X console as a combined house-warming and Valentines Day present. She is a huge fan and was disappointed to learn that the Switch version was releasing so much later. She has no idea. Can't wait to see her face.

Same - initial reveal had me hyped and then the gameplay showcase dampened that considerably. Back on the radar now - won't buy it straight away as it sounds a little buggy but definitely some time this year. |

I skimmed about 15 reviews on metacritic for the ps5 version and there were a couple of 10s but everything else was 9&8s. I was sure it was going to be 6s all-round. They can poke it though for now as I'm used to paying about one pound a week for all my gaming. It needs to be at least half price before I'll consider it.
