Ok, that episode with Micahel Keaton was an absolute blast.

Saw it the other day. His appearance is an absolute high watermark for the later series and it's crazy to think that was during the "lull" of his career. You can tell he had a fun time with the part.
The Patrick Stewart one is also excellent

Daphne's mother is awful.

The worst thing the show did was introduce Daphne's mum and do the whole romance angle. It's at its best when it centres on miscommunication, double entendres or Frasier looking like a knob.

Lilith is the best character across Cheers and Frasier.

I was always a big fan of Maris.
"The Crane family has a long history of political involvement. You know, my wife Maris actually has all our servants down at your campaign headquarters licking envelopes. She'd do it herself, but the poor thing can't produce saliva."

This Xmas episode in season 11 is a proper "Everything including the kitchen sink" affair isn't? Niles and Martin getting high on pot brownies, Freddie has gone full goth, Frasier's voice coming out of Eddie's mouth, and an appearance by the one and only Musetta Vander?

That’s one of my favorite episodes. “I’m thinking of pairing this Chilean Sea Bass with an aggressive Zinfandel” gets a belly laugh from me every time.

Why? Most of the greatest sitcoms in history have been made this way. Natural laughter is always better than a track added in post.
Yes it's old fashioned, but it's certainly appropriate for Frasier.

I guess a lot of the comedy I really enjoy just has a track (BBC sitcoms up until Miranda happened) or no laughter at all (Chris Morris, The Thick of It, etc) or it's just stand up so if it's actually funny the people in the room will laugh
Frasier is probably one of the only 'live studio audience' comedies I enjoy now that I think about it. A lot of US comedy that employs it is dogshit and all UK comedy that tries it is a panel show, and they veer - or veered since they're dying out- between catshit on your pillow and quite good

Also Cheers, Seinfeld and of course Frasier from the US. There are many many brilliant comedies filmed in front of a live studio audience and natural audience laughter can elevate it like being at a good standup gig. Entirely fake canned laughter added in post by a desperate producer to compensate for a perceived lack of genuine laughs at the recording is of course awful, but that's a different 'creative decision'.

Live audience best over laughter track to me. Changes over later seasons of Red Dwarf were case in point?

I like it when actors briefly pause what they're saying to account for the laughter. Makes it feel like you're watching a stage play.
