So weird how long it's taking to come to PlayStation.

So weird how long it's taking to come to PlayStation. Wasn't it a couple years ago a couple indie devs told Kotaku that Sony are really hard to work with if the game launches on another platform first?

Think that's probably changed since Yoshida took over that aspect of things. I'm not particularly bothered as I got Microsoft to pay itself from a reward voucher obtained by abusing Edge and got the PC version ages ago.

If you are looking for more of the same - Army of Ruin - is a very good VS clone and it's out on Playstation as well
Has a similar progression system to VS but is a bit clearer how to achieve the objectives & it is wave based, rather than time based so far - survive 10 waves + boss, then 15 + boss and the locked achievements descriptions would suggest infinite waves later on

Halls of Torment is very similar.to this, just stumbled over a video of it.
It's very Diablo in theme, in early access and is 3.49 on steam right now (20% off)

I couldn't say no to that description! Steam deck verified too.
I still haven't even tried army of ruin mind you so I should probably stop buying these games...

Decided to start halls of torment last night and had to drag myself away from it after just one more quick run... I can see myself getting very hooked on that!
Love how well games like this play on the SD too. It's practically made for them.

Is this a rogue lite/like and is there any skill involved? From what comments I've seen, it sounds like it basically plays itself?

To a point. You need to understand the upgrade tree and how to game it, which weapons are best and at least some marginally good dodging skill to go the course.
It's mostly knowledge-based, really. Nothing a wiki can't help with, but even then, there's a high element of chance.
For the money asked, it's high entertainment.

Is this a rogue lite/like and is there any skill involved? From what comments I've seen, it sounds like it basically plays itself? Not a lot of skills required to play, decent knowledge of the mechanics to progress is required. You dodge enemies, to not get hurt and to collect stuff. Knowledge of how to improve your character during playthrough is a necessity to progess further into the run. Knowledge of synergies is required to do stuff efficiently and to accomplish harder stages Then It gets more complex in terms of synergies which allow you to do stuff more efficiently to get more stuff. But skills You really just walk around and dodge and then at some point you don't even do that and becomes idle game (didn't get that far lol)

Yeah, there's some skill needed at first where you're fairly weak and need to dodge everything. Then later on you'll figure out certain weapons that make you pretty much unkillable, so you keep cranking up the enemy numbers and health to make it slightly challenging.
It's only a couple of quid, so worth a look. You'll either love it or hate it.

Only Android I'm afraid. Works very well on a tablet.
They seem to have fixed Sammy recently so that he doesn't break the game after a minute when you've got loads of eggs.

Do you use whatever inbuilt controls there are or do you use a wireless controller?

Tried playing on my phone and can't get on with touch screen. Even for something as basic as this. Great fun though so will likely just pay 3 quid and get it for the switch.

Totally playable on a phone, I've absolutely rinsed it something chronic. Great podcast game.

Yeah, it plays well with the built in controls. Isn't it still free? No harm in firing it up to have a look and then buy the DLC if you like it.
Probably a bit too fiddly on a phone screen mind you, but should be great on an iPad.

Incredible value and no pop up ads. The DLC is like £1.70 per pack and well worth it but the base game is already overflowing with content.

I actually had no idea it was free, I just assumed it'd be $5 or so like most other games. Definitely going to check it out tonight now. Thanks lads.

I find the mobile version more for no move runs and once you get Mad Groove it makes movement moot anyway!
