You’re ruining the Brave Little Soldier thread with this talk of moisturiser. This not brave or soldier-ish. It’ll be talk of talc at this rate. Mil-tec gloves are pretty good for very little money, if you can’t get proper issue ones. Better?

I think the mistake a lot of people make with aqueous cream (and other moisturisers) is using far too much. Just use a small bit and repeat if necessary.

North Face do some nice e-tip gloves. No good for below zero or thereabouts but fine otherwise. Bit more pricey mind, Blacks are normally the cheapest for them.

My hands get dried out during the winter, especially if I’m handling lots of wood…
Installing and sanding hardwoods leeches moisture from my hands. Best stuff I’ve found is Corn Huskers Oil. Does the job and leaves no slimy residue. Absorbs/dries in about five seconds so I can get back to scrolling on my phone without leaving a smear
Doesn’t seem to be available in the UK, at a reasonable price, so Nelson.jpg

Is that where the phrase 'right-hand man' comes from?

Why is his sword on his left side when he only has his left hand? He's not going to be able to take it out of the sheath properly!

Think he attaches it to his stump like an early Bruce Campbell.

Standing for a portrait must've been shit.

Just before the portrait was completed, he was actually looking straight ahead; however, at the critical moment someone off to his left yelled, "Oi, mate! Give us a hand, could you?", and he affixed the culprit with a withering stare.

Managed to get sunburnt for the first time in years and years on Saturday. Like I can't recall the last time I actually had sunburn as I reach for the factor 50 as soon as it looks sunny.
Drinking outdoors at a beer festival, with a deceptive breeze. The forecast hadn't actually been all that great so figured I'd be fine with no hat or sunblock.
And now a patch of my arm is still sore. That bit just above the elbow and below the t-shirt sleeve.
My face managed to escape being actually burned but it's right on the cusp.
Now I'm just waiting for the melanoma to kick in.

Running a bit of a fever and sore throat, skin feels all hot and my arms are aching. Tested negative but might have to pull a sickie and rest up.
Pretty sure it's from my friend who decided to let me know they've got bronchitis after hanging out for 4 hours at the weekend. Fuck sake.

I did, victim blamer.
I also cut my finger on my Stepsils packet, which I'm counting as a COVID side-effect.

Coughed my lungs up last night. Then later woke up to my throat all closed up and I flailed around trying to breathe and scared the life out of my partner. A few puffs on the inhaler I haven't needed for months and I felt a bit better. Hardly any sleep.
