I’m ALWAYS a brave little soldier. A tree landed on my head the other day, cut me open, blood streaming down my face
Just dabbed it will a wet tea towel, didn’t even cry

I fell off my bike this morning like a twat. I don't think I've broken my ribs but fuck it hurts. Also fucked my knee and forearm. I will of course soldier on.

My 3 month old is having his first cold now. He is a brave little soldier. I on the other hand am a traumatised mess after his cries.

Got through the side effects of my second jab without even taking any paracetamol. I'm a brave little soldier.

I was out cycling this morning and a guy came round a corner on his bike, saw me, braked too hard and went over the handlebars. I don't think it was you...

Went for a blood test this morning and just taken off the plaster...think the nurse put it across as many hairs as possible so it hurt a lot, but overall I was a brave little solider.

I think I must have clipped the curb turning a corner and went sideways down a bank through some nettles.

WTF kind of weirdo are you?! You need to apply it to yourself with a turkey baster.
Preferably the powder form of Colemans mixed with a very small amount of water.

Ooh, that's where I've been going wrong. I thought you were supposed to apply it to the nurse.

Has anyone here ever broken their ribs? I’m still fairly sure I’ve only bruised mine but it’s quite hurty and I’m not being very brave today
I suspect it doesn’t make any difference whether they’re bruised or broken, either way the treatment seems to be “rest” (which is the worst by the way)

I broke a rib once, one of the little ones at the bottom and it hurt like fuck for a couple of weeks, then was ok and just set itself. Before then I could poke it and it would wibble around the break, which stung like a motherfucker so I only did it a couple of times.

I've broken a couple. If you have broken one, you tend to feel a sharp pain when breathing deeply. You can have bruising around the site obviously and if it's bad enough, you can hear it.
Not a lot that can be done about it, but probably worth checking with your doctor to ensure its nothing else.

When I had a bad motorbike crash I think I broke a rib but the hospital never even looked.
Xrayed my arms, wrist, ankle etc. When I asked about ribs they just said as long as I can breath they don't care, broken or bruised makes no difference. Said as long as is stable (ie can breathe so no sharp bone puncturing lung) they wouldn't do anything anyway. Only in the movies they strap you up.
Hurt like fuck for weeks.

I have an infection at the side of my thumbnail. Slightly yellowish green discolouration in the crack, It's not wet or weeping but looks a bit like puss, and red inflammation on the skin on the side of the nail. Hurts a fair bit, last night it hurt a lot more.
Anyway, phone my GP practice. Receptionist fobs me off, tells me to go to a pharmacy and see what they say. So I do. To the surprise of none the pharmacist confirms yup, infected.
Phone the surgery back. I can get an appointment today! Wow!
Oh, it's an appointment for a telephone consultation. Which means I'll need to do in for a proper consultation before I can get any antibiotics. Supposed to be going away this weekend too.
I'm half tempted to just get a sterilised needle and just pick the mank out. Knowing my luck I'd just end with sepsis.

Walk-in centre? Similar thing happened to me and I got the prescription from a walk-in centre.
Or.......... prick it and salt bathe regularly. I mean you shouldn't do that. But yeh, that's what we did before antibiotics right?

I pulled a little bit of skin from between my finger and fingernail. Like I have done for virtually 35 years. My fucking finger has now become infected, swollen and sore to the touch. I am definitely not being a brave little soldier today.

Can’t spell the real name but that’s what it sounds like. They’ll Lance it and give you an antibiotic cream. Feels good when the built up pus comes out. God speed, Brave Little Soldier. Edit: it’s called paronychia.

They squeezed a lot of yellow goo or of my finger and I can confirm that relief was immediate.

A walk in minor injuries unit is great for this kinda thing, if they haven't all closed down where you are. Or I did one myself once, they literally stick a tiny scalpel in it and squeeze it out there's really nothing much to it.

I just bought a new belt. A Vans one, with one of those solid flip-over type fastenings. Couldn't get the two bits to separate, but there's a hole in the back one, so I've tried to push it open from behind, and the it's taken a huge chunk of skin out of the length of my finger. It fucking hurts. So not, I'm not a BLS, I'm pissed at doing something so stupid.

I got stung by something, not normally allergic but my whole arm swelled up like a balloon, went to a+e last night and am now on heavy antibiotics and antihistamines. Couldn't keep my eyes open today but my arm is a bit better, they think I had an odd reaction and it got infected on top to boot.
