Get the appeal in, but if your health allows, get your CV updated and start working on insurance policies, which includes the previously mentioned advice on Universal Credit etc. I know from experience how hard this is when you are in that condition.
Never been fired but did jump before I was pushed once - extended probation period, got a job offer on 3K less, asked employers whether I should take it (fighting back tears in that meeting - god I f*cking hate myself for that and for not instead telling them to stick it) and even though I had an absolutely skint period between the two jobs and beyond, I ended up so much happier. It’s really hard to see how toxic a job can be as a mental health contributor until you are out of it. I lost two stones to mine, in a three month period - with no additional exercise or diet.
Apologies if this comes over as a glib, ‘chin up’ post, but sometimes you can indeed fall upwards and not see it until afterwards. I’m not so naive to think a change of jobs sorts all your problems but you may find it lessens them and slow progress is still progress.
It may not be of interest but when the dust settles either way, I did find via Reddit a company that will anonymously post a box of actual horse shit anywhere in the world for you.

Do you have to pay extra for personalisation, like including a man from Milk Tray card

Just void yelling.
Pretty sure I'm fucked. Need to put full written appeal in by Friday, requested extension to Monday (as I have 1. a landlord visit Saturday and need to clean and 2. Going back to the office has been quite tiring so having Sunday to work through it would be a good thing) but was declined as I had opened the letter (which they noted via adobesign, fucking invasion of privacy if you ask me) while still signed off last Friday, and they "need to deal with this in a timely fashion"
My boss is getting me to review some basic stuff and is generally off. Doesn't want me to look at my earlier cases and won't say anything except "HR process now".
Ho hum.

At this point you have to ask yourself, even though being fired is shit, do you really want to continue at a place that is doing all they can to get rid of you? Because I can envisage them trying to make your work experience untenable if you continue.

Do you need help with your letter? If you can, join a union and get them to join you in the meeting.

Did you manage to get the written appeal in yesterday, Danno? Yeah. I'm not confident, but it's done.

DannoWell done, mate - I'm sure it wasn't easy, but you've done all you can for now. Proud of you for giving it a shot. The easy course of action would've been to roll over and accept it, but you didn't let the bastards off the hook.

Informing me of the plan, he hasn't stuck a section 21 on me as yet. He's been working on the flat downstairs for three weeks after the neighbours moved out so I had an inkling it was coming. There's a whole loft they could turn into a weird 2 storey flat so I guess it was only a matter of time. He's being decentish about it and said he'll let me know if another of his properties has a vacancy. I've been here 6 years with literally zero hassle bar the odd thing breaking as it is wont to do (boiler circuit board, tap washers and the door thingy breaking and locking my then girlfriend into the bathroom) so maybe that counts for something. I told him about the work uncertainty as well and he just said to keep him informed. Kind of feel like I could use a bit of a break in general.

I follow a lot of motivational accounts on Instagram. Yesterday, I saw a clip of Steve Harvey talking about how if an opportunity, or door, closes on you, then that just means God is opening a window for you down the hall. At this very moment I would use Steve Harvey as a human battering ram to knock open doors for Danno

please help me with my google-fu
looking for what you call bolts with little spinny feet on one end - kind of like how you see on clamps ( eg here). you see them on so many things, like they're probably holding the monitor arm to your desk, that they must be a commodity item you can buy a hundred at a time for like 20 quid or something but I can't find the right google phrase
best i've found is " swivel foot screw" but that's bringing up specialist machining at ~£10 each - ie. at least five times dearer than buying up a bunch of finished products and cutting the bolts off them

don't think it's them, it's going to be a normal bolt but with a ball on the end to which a ball-socket foot pops on

I have a recollection (I think) of playing a Call of Duty game on a PS2 with local split screen multiplayer (perhaps just 2 player death match or something like that). Am I making this up? Did any of the PS2 CoDs offer this?
