I have an IKEA one (Markus) and it's great. It's been my office chair for about 5 years now and apart from some wearing on the plastic arms, it's still robust and comfortable.

May as well try in this thread as the Audiophiles one isn't getting a bite.
I'm looking for a home (potentially portable) speaker, just a decent quality one for my dining room.
I'm leaning towards the Denon 250 Home model. It has a ton of great connectivity options and the sound quality seems very good. Only downsides I can see are the app's a bit of a pain and it looks a bit boring (though that doesn't bother me).
The only other two speakers I'm considering are the Audio Pro Addon C10 MKII and the Bluesound Pulse Flex 2i.
Main thing it needs to have is an Aux and/or USB/flash drive input - I'm way behind on streaming and most of my collection is still on CD (ripped to MP3).
If anyone has any advice I'd love to hear it - thanks!

rhaegyr I have a Dali Katch, which I use most days, great sound from a portable. Has AUX and USB input but it is a bit pricey.

I managed to pick up an Audio Pro Addon T5 for a crazy price (in bright orange) a couple of years ago, it's been excellent. The only minor issue I have with it is that despite a bluetooth connection you can't change the volume via it (may have just been a limitation of that model).

I’ve got a question too
What game should I play next?
I’ve got Disco Elysium in the wrapper next to me here but not that motivated to play it
All I’ve played for a good while now is a loop of Dark Souls games and all the Resident Evils - my two favourite series by some distance
I’ve also got PS5 Ratchet & Clank there but again not that motivated to play it
I’ve hardly played anything from the last 5 years or so other than FROM games and RE
WHAT SHOULD I PLAY?

retro74 How about that Demon Souls PS5 remake? It does sound right up your alley!!! Well, you did say Dark Souls games, didn't you?
Joking aside, I'm having a similar problem: even though I'm occasionally excited about the prospect of playing various (non-FROM) games, either from the backlog or new, I end up ditching them at the early stages; spoilt for choice, I guess...

If you wanted to go cheap and (hopefully) cheerful, there are things like the Anker Soundcore which has aux in, SD card and 66 foot bluetooth. Its only just over £20 on Amazon. Or there's JBL and Bose, but they assume bluetooth connectivity on the whole as they're waterproof etc. They both seem to get very good reviews. /does not know a lot about the subject. Thanks for the heads up - I'm actually willing to spend £200-£400 though so happy to go for something a bit pricier. Maybe I should just get a decent bluetooth enabled £200 speaker and then spend the rest on a Spotify subscription.

Techmoan on YouTube recently reviewed the Beosound A1 V2 which he was pretty happy with. No aux in though iirc.

I loved Disco Elysium, so recommend playing that at some point. It is a very wordy game though, often delving into heavy subjects, albeit with a lightness, so probably something you need to be in the right mood for. You probably have already played it if you have a PS5, but Returnal is excellent and is a must play. Maybe try playing a different genre that you don't normally play? Recently trying out visual novels and it is nice to have a whole range of games that are new to me and they perfect on my Steam Deck. Played One Night Stand and it is really lovely little game. Also played a bit of The House in Fata Morgana, which I'm really liking.

Honestly it's a fucking 'first world problem' nightmare - I've been looking at buying one for weeks but it's just an avalanche of contradictory information across multiple websites, users reviews and even in places like Richer Sounds.
I've no idea how impartial Which? are either. I was leaning towards the Denon 250 - apart from the software it sounds like it has the best audio quality. Audio Pro Addon C10 MKII seems like a good alternative but again the software is meant to be dogger.

I just checked some more. Their best buys are: Ultimate Ears - Hyperboom 78% JBL Charge 5 77% Sony SRS XB43 - 74% Anker Soundcore Motion Boom - 71% Sony SRS-XB01 - 71% Next best in your price range: Bose Soundlink Revolver 2 69% Marshall Kilburn 2 - 67% Let me know if you want me to narrow it down more and I can see what they recommend. *The Denon's have a score of 50 and 56%. Thanks man, really appreciate you looking into this for me!

A friend of mine has the Markus and loves it. Hear good things elsewhere too and it is a lot cheaper than equivalent chairs.
I went second hand for mine and picked up a Steelcase leap V2 at a much cheaper price than buying new. Probably not worth looking if you after something for the £100 mark, as the Markus seems great at that price, but for one that is a level up from that then second hand is the way to go.

Other than that we've got various Alexa's round the house so I'm clearly not an audiophile in that regard, therefore you may take that recommendation with a very large pinch of salt 😆

retro74You played Hades yet? I've been getting my teeth into it lately, really helped me get over a gaming slump. That and I really got into Slay the Spire on mobile lately.

Just had a read about it though I’m not 100% sure if I’ve played a rogue-like game, for some reason they don’t pique my interest. I did play Dead Cells for a bit but wasn’t grabbed by it, is that a rogue-like? like you were, I’m in a slump

The next games I’ll probably play will be RE4 remakes and Dead Space remake, which is a bit lame considering I’ve completed the former at least 50 times and the latter 5 times

I can't see a general questions thread, so thought I'd start one. Anyone know anything about office chairs? We need one for my eldest (so about £100) and maybe one for myself. The majority seem to look good but wear out very quickly and so I'm looking at one (millberget) from IKEA which looks... IKEA, but has a long warranty. I know a Herman Miller Aeron is the way to go, but my budget is no where near that. google second hand office furniture, and try the mirra 2.

Only thing to be wary of is the integration with Google home is rubbish, all of the reviews say better support is "coming later" but it never did. The Denon app is a bit clunky, but it's not really a problem as you can either just plug it in, connect via Bluetooth or stream directly to it if you want to avoid using it. I also have a Denon 150 and the sound quality isn't dramatically different, the 250 will be better if your room is big but there's not much difference if you're in a small office. The sound quality won't compare to a dedicated hifi or hifi headphones, but it's decent for the money and convenience.

I think I've been swayed by the Marshall Stanmore 3 though - it looks gorgeous and it seems more suited to the genre of music i'll be playing.
