The measurements and comparisons of gaming vs crypto aren't fit for purpose. They're comparing hundreds of millions of people playing games globally to the thousands of bitcoin mimers.
As Nick mentioned gaming has benefits of enjoyment, stress relief and more recently education and dissolution of prejudices.
Cypercurrencies and NFTs on the other hand, despite all the propaganda, are used primarily for the super rich to hide and obfuscate wealth. Criminal elements to conduct business and as possible schemes to rip off punters.
If the article was able to distill one individual buying and playing a game to completion versus the sale and purchase of an NFT it would have some validity.

Like I say, NFTs are literally a waste of the earths resources. Even if you took the coal used to create the energy to power the mining rig and just burned it at least it would keep you warm.

NFTs are an answer to a question nobody asked. Utterly pointless in the long run, just a waste of resources.

The only thing more wasteful of the planets resources than NFTs is pre-bagged bananas Well, according to a video I watched on facebook, if you can isolate unripe bananas from ripe ones, you can stop the unripe ones from ripening too early. So bagged and sealed bananas make sense if you are going to store them.
Or you can just wrap the stalks with clingfilm, that works just as well.

I bought some Shiba Inu, see if I can make some meme coin cash.... It's worth 2.5x what I paid a week ago, sadly the other coins such as Cardano are shitting themselves as compensation. If only I had sold the lot and put it on Shiba Inu..

Yeah the shiba coin is flying, but I believe it has just been pumped by some billionaire, probably to wash the tax off his money or some shit. Unfortunately having 2 dog coins in the top 10 backs up Tonka. It just backs up his thought that Crypto and blockchain is a pointless pile of bollocks that we don't need. That crypto is only used by the rich as a store of wealth or used for dodgy transactions and memes.
Harmony has gone good for me recently. Believe it is a decent one for the future.

These massive pump and dumps are a vehicle to separate naïve fools from their money. I think we're in for another crazy couple of months yet, but more and more people I know are just starting to get in to crypto and I try to warn them they're going to learn a harsh lesson when their altcoins crash 90% in a matter of days.

So this saying 'GM' to people on the tweet machine and selling people .jpegs for magic internet money thing is doing alright. Clearly where I saw myself at 40 something.
What a time to be alive.

It's quite something. I wouldn't be unhappy if crypto just vanished up its own arse. It has no intrinsic value to society as yet, but has been captured by organisations with a lot of capital to strangle the supply of processors etc to make money, once again, for a select few.

Crypto is far more useful than fiat. The networks themselves are the future of proof and storage - it’s also very public, so transparent, many banks are taking up the technologies as we speak

😂 I've been hearing that for 10+ years in financial services - they all issue urgent whitepapers, open 'labs', hold breakfast conferences, then once they realise they can't make anything approaching a valid business case and neither are their competitors they quietly downsize and merge it into another department a few years later.
It'll happen one day, but with the next generation of employees. Or more likely the next.

It'll keep going for now as it is valuable for criminal use, that's about it.

But they're not adopting cryptocurrencies, though.

Banks are only starting to wake up because they are bleeding big money clients to the de-fi sector as those with the money prefer not to pay useless middleman fees.
I mean anyone can create a blockchain and it doesn't necessarily need to generate a coin or token but the ones that do have a big head start. The tech is sound and only in it's infancy relatively speaking can only see wider adoption across almost every sector eventually.
I know that the EU have created their own Genesis block to secure their contracts and IPO stuff, my missus works in contract law and absolutely everything is starting to migrate this way. The EU even just announced a deal with IOTA to help develop the EUs grand blockchain plan.

Ok, so there is a game coming out in 2022 called Phantom Galaxies. Looks cool and supposedly is going to be pc and both consoles. It is also going to utilise nfts in game. As I have been following from the start they gave the first 5000 discord members a free nft as can be seen here opensea.io/assets/matic/0x95fcb7f46f1e652fdf23db087c0f24011775be00/100Basically you are looking at the offers for said nft that I could pocket right now. It will have in game utility but they haven't announced what that is yet. Honestly I may be pro crypto and have a little of it but this is the first something worth lots, bit blown away. Either I cash in now or wait and see if it goes up.

Speaking of hats I sold a unique TF2 hat many years ago for a healthy sum. Struggling to see what’s so different and new for the gaming stuff aside from a massively wasteful way of securing them.

Ahh well, to claim you have to be at least level 5 in Ghost Recon. Never played it before so too bad I guess.
