The news about the re-release of Glover* sent me down a rabbit hole of comment reading on both Kotaku and PC Gamer, where people are poiting out that the publishers, Piko Interactive, are copyright trolls and NFT grifters, and have an aggressive attitude toward preventing fan archival of original/earlier builds, even going so far as to inititate copyright strikes on YouTube videos.
*Why, anyway? It was a bucket of shyte, only one rung up the ladder from Superman 64 in terms of quality.

One of my friends got done in a tangential Crypto scam. She was looking to ‘invest’ in crypto and take a rocket to the moon but knew nothing about it so went with some crypto investment advisors she saw on Facebook who, unsurprisingly, scammed her.
When she finally turned the taps off they rang her up, pretended they were operating on behalf of the police and did a classic recovery scam on her.
It culminated with them trying to sell her house. Fucking crazy stuff.

Yeah, she ran out of money to give them so they put her in touch with one of these quick sale companies. The penny finally dropped before she was homeless but they extracted her life savings, had her taking loans out and all sorts.
Obviously she is mortified but it is the kind of story where ‘what the fuck were you thinking?’ tries it’s best to override any sympathy you’re feeling. Like every step in the story is ‘holy shit, that was dumb’. But for the grace of god and all that but, man…
