Oh my fucking god, I just saw the clip of Paris Hilton on Jimmy Fallon talking about each other's ape NFTs. I think it's time for me to look for some browser extensions that wipe clean/hide any mention of NFTs. That was the final straw.

But not by using the Blockchain! Because the Blockchain is useless technology.

YouTube looking at getting into NFTs. Strap yourselves in, we are going to the moon
Oh, Julian Lennon's getting in on the act too. Actually that's not a bad idea, we've got some memorabilia that might be worth something, maybe I can sell it via nfts and keep the actual items, win win!

Can we all sell our cars and houses by NFT and then keep the cars and houses then?

Yes. And every time someone else sells it, you'll get 20%*.
WHAT'S NOT TO LOVE!?
*This might not actually happen because the blockchain is useless

Even better, you can save money by not having a professional like a solicitor involved.
Instead you can simply trust a smart contract.
Don't worry that you haven't looked at it because you don't know how to write code. And no need to look at the workings of all the other smart contracts it interacts with as everything is fine. And there couldn't be any bugs (sorry features) or lazy operations from the selling platform itself meaning you pay over the odds for your new house but only get 10p for your old one.

The only thing he should host is a parasite" Anyway, now it's raised the possibility of a conflict of interest. www.latimes.com/business/technology/story/2022-01-26/jimmy-fallon-nft-ape-nbc

The funny thing is that because of the horrendous lack of privacy, everyone can see that this dumbass paid 200k for that pic.

Woah please, get the facts right. He paid $200k for a proof of purchase of a password that is linked to a URL that could point to that picture. NFTs are so dumb they're even dumber than the blockchain.

So I see Gwyneth Paltrow, the queen of snake oil, has now bought an ape.
I know you get commercial usage rights for them (wow), but surely changing their appearance to have different traits goes completely against the whole point of some being rarer than others?
In the animation on Paltrow's "reveal" she has changed the hat for hair (none of the others have hair so maybe that's OK) but also changed the eyes which are one of the seven random traits.
Maybe that falls under derivative works, but if anyone with an ape can make it look like any other ape then.... ?!

Well yes, it's possible BAYC did (though suspect they don't need more exposure) or more likely moonpay did.
She's the perfect "influencer" for this, already has a mass following of people who will buy the most ludicrous "remedies"

www.finder.com.au/ubisoft-interview-nftsHa, what a terrible interview also the writer is definitely a crypto bro, it's almost too transparent. Anyway the crux of the interview is that gamers are against Ubisofts foray into NFTs because they don't fully get it and are just acting out

Its like no we get it and we're telling you it's a bad idea. How about the fact the real tangible value only exists if there is a continuation on boarding of new players with new cash so that old players can cash out. If a game becomes a stale or new players stops coming in the value of your said asset drops extensively. And not even counting the fact that devs/publishers have control over which items can still be in the game or decide to shut the servers down and discontinue the game because its unpopular. Look at their battle Royal which is shutting down after 18 months. It's a scam.

Any company pushing NFTs needs to be avoided
If their leadership are fine with NFTs then the chances they have been actively ripping customers off using old fashioned methods is about 100%
NFTs do seem good for letting executives utterly detached from regular people who also have no concept of ethics out themselves in public.
Heed their signs

It's insane to me that mainstream organisations are adopting NFT's. It feels like a directive from the top where people are removed from the nuts and bolts delivery but love to be an "early adopter".
Unfortunately in this case the next big thing is a blatant scam. It's scary how people buy into this and are too scared to actually question what it is and how it works for fear of being labelled stupid.
It's the oldest pitch in the world, make the mark feel like they're smart and everyone else is too dumb to get it.

Finally we have companies willing to put ownership back into the hands of the people and all fontgeek can do is deride and divide.
I got your back Ubi.

I understand that you're taking the piss, but there really are people who seem to believe that these big corporate entities are interested in Blockchain, Crypto and NFTs because they're like some latter day Robin Hoods who intended to redistribute the wealth to the little people.
Which is cute.

I would be willing to bet that most in-game NFTs are unsellable without being accompanied by some kind of paid for resale token.

Yeah it is definitely interesting how legitimate, giant and small corporations and businesses are getting behind this. It also helps that there's absolutely no regulation in place so you really can pump those idiots for all they have on that shaky idea of decentralisation and control.

Crypto-bros: Blockchain, Crypto and NFTs will free us all from the strictures of capitalism by allowing us to own our own forms of capital
Capitalism: hold my beer whilst I sell these idiots the idea of ownership of notion items
