Nah we’ve already played some online turf war together, tbh I’ve been looking for an excuse to get back into the switch library having been out of it for a couple of years. Just want to get the cheapest entry point I can I think on a 3rd switch in the house!!!

My partner wants to sell their Switch lite, but I had to repair the drift on the left stick about 6 months ago, ao I wouldn't sell it on here. Might so a CEX job as at least when they sell it on the user gets a 2 year warranty.

This has just become Nintendo's fastest selling game of all time. 3.45 million units in Japan in 3 days. Globally it has likely surpassed the lifetime sales of the original game.

Caved in and got this via a download code from amazon.co.jp for just over £35. Hopefully won't need to brush up on my kanji for it...
£37 for physical via good old Currys, but this feels like the kind of game you'd jump onto for a quick go between other games, so digital makes more sense.

Not a bad call as I am constantly cartridge swapping between this and Dragon Quest 11 at the moment.
I'm over half way through the campaign and its a big step up from the base campaign from 2. I have to go back and try that Octopass Expansion.

This game has the worst Matchmaking I've ever seen. Fucking abysmal. I have a 25% win rate. The core gameplay is gold but the matchmaking is turning what should be a 10/10 game into a literal 3/10.

A lot of veteran players may have chosen not to carry their Splatoon 2 progress across, which means they get treated as new players. It might actually be best to give it a few weeks before playing as they will naturally disappear to the higher ends of matchmaking.
I assume you've got some decent experience right, Duff? I think I remember you giving the last one a go. Is it you struggling, or weaker team pairings? My win rate is actually quite high at the moment, but I've had a few games in which I have been slaughtered.
Apparently an update is due to fix the awful disconnecting issues we've seen at launch. Turns out they game is busier than expected, but at least they're working at it.

I'm playing alright, regularly getting 10 splats a game and inking an average of 900 a match. I just lose every time anyway. It's rather aggravating.

Doesn't sound like your fault at all then! Haha.
I'm only averaging about 5 splats per game, regardless of weapon type or map. I am hitting around 900p too, so maybe I've just been luckier with my match making. I am trying to support others, but some players are downright suicidal.

Finally started playing today, starting to feel the love again, but still need to get a handle on how to deal with specials, there's one that seems like it just homes in on you and nothing seems to be able to stop it.

Its really hard to add more to the trailers and gameplay videos. Its the Rocket League of shooters. 3 minute, intense battles to paint as much as possible. You don't have to have a great aim if you can compensate with strategy and the single player campaign has more variety than most non-Nintendo developers can offer. There's also genuine variety with different weapon classes that require a unique approach to painting and fighting.
Its about as polished as it could ever be and has the potential to entertain for years if you enjoy online competitive games.

The Girl finished the campaign this afternoon. First one she’s completed with no help *wipes tear away*. Although if the DLC is as hard as the octo expansion that may change.
