Huh. That got lost in all of the noise.
It sounds like helltide ember drop rates are bugged rather than an intentional nerf, so hopefully that gets rolled back. Still sucks that you need loads more for a chest though.

All I see on youtube at the moment is video thumbs with 'D4 NERF this' and 'D4 sucks that' after the patch notes dropped. Tomorrow it'll be a loads of videos with thumbnails like 'D4 new gems are op', 'Necro build is broken, MASSIVE DPS!!!'

Undocumented change, WTs are now level gated, (Wt4 is min 70). It's pretty transparent they don't want people burning through the content as quickly as they have been, but this patch in general is a pretty heavy handed way to go. I think I might save my season pass token thing for a later season.

I wondered how I'd missed the map unlocks  I only played for a little bit last night but my Druid still seems alright - I think most of the nerfs apply to the silly builds that can oneshot bosses. |

I think I might save my season pass token thing for a later season. I hit 61 yesterday, and got an immediate "Priority Quest" to do the WT3 Capstone Dungeon, which is marked as 70+ on the map. So I had no intention of even attempting it for another ten levels regardless. #Coward |

I can't remember if I was 62 or 63 but it was bastard hard but I loved every bit of it.
I love the early game grind and feel that it's at its best when the content tests you and the combat is slower and more tactical. So I really liked both the capstone dungeons and the gearing before/after.
It was at its least interesting when I now have the majority of my power and can bounce into a room, delete it all and run on. I like it for a bit but then it's just repetitive and I'm eager for the next chase. At the moment I like that they've slowed things down but appreciate I'm well in the minority

I mean that nerf was always coming it was just a bit heavy. Honestly though, it's such a crazy good stat that you had to have it.
Feels like they've baited and switched the entirety of season 0. Have fun now but we're reigning all this shit in next season so the season machanic feels good

Is it now a hard restriction or can you still attempt it? You can still do the fight, just can't advance to the next WT afterwards. Same deal with WT3 and L50. Not checked any of this out personally though. |

I absolutely loved getting a boost to 70 in D3 and just focussing on gearing up straight away. I don't think I would've come back for so many seasons if it wasn't possible.

The one thing I do think reddit is spot on about (sadly) re: the patch notes is it doesn't bode well for blizzard's faith in their content for the foreseeable future if they're trying to slow progress like this already. Reminds me of every MMO I've played on release and subsequently dropped not long after.

I'm slow digesting all this in between work so there maybe more brain dumps and thought posts to come, you lucky bastards.
Anyhoo, they've outlined a world tier change and I think it's to introduce a feeling of power because as we all know scaling is sucky and this might be tied with this hard restriction on WT progression.
Once you hit l55 the mobs
plateau until you hit l60 at which point they then scale -5 levels behind you until the WT cap of 70.
Then same again in WT4 at l75 to 80 and then they scale at -5 all the way to 100.
I don't see what this solves. If you have even half a synergistic build going you are literally deleting anything out in the open world already, so it'll just be even moreso unless this is to account for the survivability debuffs we're all getting

Had a go on the Druid after the patch and barely noticed a difference. Feels exactly the same. |

Vulnerable damage was pretty much essential to have previously, so people will have gone all in on it. There's a before and after pic of a crossbow's stats on Reddit that really drives home how heavy handed the nerf is.
I feel like I should get some popcorn ready for this fireside chat...
Still can't fathom why they added 2 seconds to the exit dungeon timer. It's just a perfect cherry on top of the mound of fuck you.

Aside to the patch notes we also have the malignant heart powers now. That's a wierd duality between the patch (taketh away) and the new gems (giveth back).
The wrathful sorc one could be super powerful with frozen or for example but since we're now super squishier then ... wtf!
The wrathful rogue one that's applies all imbuements is cool.
I'm interested to get my hands on them.

Great, I've spent all my time gathering vulnerable damage because that's where I've invested my abilities.
For fucks sake, this is like elden ring where I respecced to use rivers of blood which was promptly nerfed 24 hours later.
With d4s scaling, and not a full kit of equipment it's a slog enough as it is.

I wouldn't worry about it, from tomorrow it's hardly like you're going to play those characters again.
The tough choice now is which class came out best from the patch or which one are they going to kneejerk unfuck the most and will be best to play.
I was going rogue but there's a gem for necro minions that buffs their damage as long as you can reliably generate resource. Could be cool.
