Just tried a tier 23 nitemare dungeon and I am glass as fuck. I mean sorcs are but I'm super brittle with only 2.6k life.
Been relying on shock & awe to sprint into a room , run around to aggro them all and fuck everything up in a single blast but these mobs took the pain.
Not to say I didn't like it, I fucking loved it. My ice shards started shooting off at an obtuse angle so the boss killed me on my last revive.

First I did the capstone dungeon to get to WT3, you should have a quest in your journal. I spent time being a lone wanderer helping the locals and completing the renown. Quite a bit of xp, skill & paragon points there. Do helltides, grim favours, legion and world boss events if and when they show up. Helltides are good when just into a new tier as you can group with the locals and get some but XP and the next tier of gear. You'll also start getting sigils for nightmare dungeons, use these to upgrade glyphs that will also start dropping for your paragon board |

Doesn't look like it. I'm at 48 post the main campaign, and it opened up after I completed enough whispers to get a reward from the whisper tree.
It seems to be *at* level 50, so I'm going to continue doing random stuff till I get there to 50 and then take it on.

I'm level 50 now, looks like I'm on the paragon board, which is a bit confusing.
Only just started Act V, but I finally have a horse! \o/
I also did a legion event with a few randoms. It was great actually as my shadow imbuement really came into it's own. Using that and my skill that fires arrows everywhere means I primed everyone for going pop as soon as the other guys laid in. The whole thing was over pretty quickly

It’s basically a gacha mechanic, but I’ve had some good weapons and rings out of them so it’s cool. But whispering keys first, and then gear. |

Yeah, get a decent supply of keys set aside, then use it to focus on getting an upgrade for your weakest slot... Or just getting an inventory full of shit.

You max out at 1000 obols with all upgrades. Worth gambling for whatever your weakest slot is, especially when you hit 50+

I did and as I ran up the steps, very reminiscent of lead up to d3s diablo encounter I started to think that maybe this is that thing ... Dead!

I don't think it took much extra in gearing to get accustomed to WT4 really. I've added about 1k more life and maybe 500-740 armour and I'm no longer as squishy. It helps that my damage has gone up by about a 1k as well but I would say that all of my deaths in the past couple of hours have been lag related. Either their servers or my network connection cannot handle the speed at which I want to skirt around.
So many times I've ported right into the center of a hugemongus pack of mobs/elites and it just locks up, few seconds later and I might be dead or I might have exploded and zipped back out. Who knows. Fun finding out though. No way I could play hardcore like this though.

That's pretty much how I feel!
I've had annoyingly little time to spend on this over the weekend but pushing lvl 20 now and having a blast, despite finding the whole thing quite daunting. Even more so as this is my first proper go at a Diablo game!
I bumped it up to WT 2 as it seemed better to get more experience. I'm managing ok, but definitely running up against tougher opposition now. Is it silly to jump pretty much straight in to WT 2? 1 seemed very easy.

Am I right in thinking there is no 'time played' stat anywhere in this (pc version) ?
I'm sure D3 had an hours played under your toon in the selection screen. Been a while since I loaded it but I vaguely remember one of my witch doctors having over a 1000 hours alone.
I've just hit or close to 71 last night and just curious how long it's taken so far with my largely 'non-focussed' gameplay.

If you have decent gear and your build skills even remotely synergise then even 2 will still feel trivial. A few bosses/elites may give you an issue but that's usually in their time to kill rather than them really hurting you |
