I actually really like the defending, feels a lot more involved than just holding a button down in PES>
The defensive AI still seems very suspect though. Still too easy to dribble passed and not tracking runs very well.
I'd still prefer to be playing PES at the end of the day but a lack of any updates to 21 anymore and Efootball being a shambles means this isn't a bad alternative.

I get the whole jockeying thing and I like the idea, but on legendary difficulty (I think - the one above pro) i just can't get near to the AI most of the time and if you mistime your tackle you are screwed. Its just a bit too unforgiving for me. I can't go down to Professional as I then find it too easy to score.
I did try legacy but I couldn't get on with that either for some reason. I might try again but I'm guessing you have to use tactical online anyway.

Mainly but there's single player challenges and games too. Online is decent nowadays, no real exploits. And you git sifted quite well up and down leagues depending on your skill level.

Heh, I've calmed down ever since I through a controller on the floor and it bounced up and cracked a window.
I realised how ridiculous I was when I was explaining to my wife why we needed it fixed.

I just find online all too stressful. Even when winning. EA's online implementation has always been excellent though

Been getting into these again ever since they started to drop on Gamepass. The absolute game changer for me, especially online was right stick player switching.
Using the bumpers to switch for the most part, but using the right stick to switch to a player in the direction of the flick at the right moment, helps to remove those moments where you see the through ball or build up coming and feel helpless to do anything about it.

Wow, do I fucking suck at this lol
Played the intro game with PSG. Won 5-0, so it put me at World Class (?) level. Promptly got annihilated 7-1 in a random match.
Looks pretty good, mind you. Can tell I've not played one of these in years though because it took me an eternity to work my way through the menus just to find a random game against the AI.

The menus are a bit shit. Nowhere near pes levels of annoyance but they could be less cluttered/more slick.
It's good though, they've just refined last year's game with no drastic changes. Set pieces are much better too.

Still feels like it need a setting between pro and Legendary. So much better trying to break down the defences in Legendary but it feels impossible to stop them scoring when the game decides it's going to score.

Only had a few games but World Class is where I've ended up. Still seems a bit easy to score, but definitely more of a challenge to defend.

Can't even get past the warm-up match on Series X. Tells me I need to sign in to EA servers (I am online) and then it crashes to the home screen. I despair at games always needing to sign in. It's bugging me in Deathloop too as I lost all my progress from last night by just leaving it and assuming Quick Resume would pick up where I left off.

Yeah servers have been a bit of a mess, on PC certainly. Had all my ‘progress’ wiped at one point, only for it to come back about two hours later.
Switching between pro and world class at the moment to find my groove. Feel proper rusty. Don’t think I’ve played FIFA since c. 2013-14 lol

I'm not talking coop, more me and a friend playing against two other friends all using our own machines. We've attempted to 'snipe' each other using coop seasons but it's a pain in the arse and rarely works. Last time I saw that feature was FIFA 15; from reading online it doesn't look like it'll be back. |
