Watched the extended vid and can't help but think Ubi should have let this one die.
Still looks like a game based on the ship combat from Assassins Creed Black flag released nearly a decade ago. You can see the extra work gone into it since the last showing to be fair, but still looks janky as hell.
Totally different artstyles, but when there's the likes of Sea of Thieves out there, I don't really see the point.

Does this have a proper single player campaign? I am sure Sea of Thieves is great, but I have zero interest in games with a multiplayer focus.

Well that looks rubbish... Then again I took one look at Sea of Thieves and thought "nah, not for me", but that seems to be doing well enough. What do I know.

I love the AC series, but Black Flag is my least favourite (I know, I know) and this looks like they've just used it as the basis for some pirating.

Might give it a go if it plops on GP/PS+ or if it reviews amazingly (which doesn't seem too likely)

The single player or campaign content within Sea of Thieves I've really enjoyed so far, some of the quests can be quite obscure, almost Zelda like in places. The game is multiplayer only, but with only a handful of player ships in the world, you can often have play sessions and not come accross another player. Life is much easier with extra crew/players, but just doing solo single player is doable and quite satisfying once it clicks. |
