I have a stew too, meatballs, potatoes and peas. Though mine is a posh ready meal from the Italian restaurant/deli.

Oof, I guess you're not in GB, €25 sounds like a lot (or is it depending on your cost of living wherever you are?), a bit more than I had considered excessive! Though now when I think about it, beef + beer + other ingredients + oven time I must easily be up to about £15. The beef cut alone was ~£17, but it was about 1,2kg so quite a lot. Fresh greens are expensive this time of year and I used some "unnecessary" stuff like a few handfuls of lingonberries, and I'm counting buying two packets of feta to go with the salad which definitely wasn't necessary, but yummy. Cost of living is higher here (Sweden) but at least it's not Norway prices and electricity is a non-issue except for like two weeks in mid-winter. I'd consider anything above £4 quite expensive for a home cooked meal, but I have colleagues who eat out every day and that can easily be well over £10, so £5-6 still isn't bad.
Anyway, stew turned out nice, ice cream now because I've been adulting enough for today.

Shin is definitely the best meat for a beef stew. Stewing steak just isn't as tender. Had one the other week, with leftovers in the freezer. Yum.

"mini" roast dinner that my partner made. Pork belly, the crackling was lovely.

Looks good, but if those are Aunt Bessies YPs then have a word with yourself. Also, you're allowed to cut potatoes in half before roasting!! Edges = crispy bits.

Home made 'southern fried chicken' + salad etc in a stone baked roll, again - delicious.

Dominoes at the lads request.
It was ok. Tasted a little bit of regret, but stopped the hunger.

Even my eldest has realised how crap and salty they are.
Stew and dumplings today. My absolute favourite winter Sunday meal.

Haven't had a jacket spud in a decade, no joke. Five mins in the microwave then buttered, oiled, salted and in 220 oven for an hour. Split and fluffed, more butter, 3 types of grated cheese and beans. Another ten mins then tucked in.
Almost jizzed, heavenly on a night like tonight.

Jacket potato and cheese is a firm staple for me. Proper comfort food. I haven't quite nailed them in the Ninja yet though. Tend to prefer them slow and low.
