I get much more grateful and protective of my hair.
My brother is practically bald at 40 (follows after my dad) whereas I've still got a thick, full head of hair (follow after my mum who still has an afro at 60).
I've noticed the conversation turning to hair more and more with my mates after a few drinks (who are all thinning/balding); they talk about getting implants, how they hide the bald bits etc. Never realised how big of an impact this stuff has.
I used to shave my head during the summer; I've not done it for the last two years in case it doesn't come back properly!

I'm getting enough greys that I'm considering dyeing it. And I hate that.

I'm getting enough greys that I'm considering dyeing it. And I hate that. Ah that sucks - the sides of my hair went grey fairly early in my 20's but I didn't mind it. It was kinda like the George Clooney salt and pepper style. Minus the good looks.

I really don't mind grey hairs. I'm looking forward to going full Gandalf.
My hair is quite full, as I approach 40. My dad's hair didn't start thinning until 60ish so confident I'll be good for a bit longer.

Still growing a lot of hair, actually it feels like I have more after chemotherapy. However I've had a grey streak in my hair since I was 14 and it fucking came back.

I’d love to be 18 again but with the confidence I have now instead of then.

That's the thing, it's a couple of streaks on each side. So it's not even sexy Clooney salt and pepper, it's like Bride of Frankenstein.
I'm considering dyeing it blonde like Neymar or something. If the dye fades, it'll be less obvious than if I went with my natural color.

I think once you start dyeing there’s no way back. And then one day you’ll be that 70 yo with a face that doesn’t match the hair.

I've seen my mother dye her hair weekly for half my life, never wanted to do that myself. Now that I'm getting more greys, I've gotten self conscious.

I’d love to be 18 again but with the confidence I have now instead of then. You’re always going to say that. When you’re 60 you’ll say I wish I was 40 but knew what I know now. Past you is always an idiot, no matter how old you get.

I'd hate to be 18 today. Too much social media nonsense. I honestly think i and my peers had the best timing. The benefits of the internet but able to escape the worst of the hideous popularity contest that social media creates. I honestly think that sort of system would make me very insecure. (If you like this post please hit that upvote button. Please. I need validation) I'll validate you all day chief. That sounds kinky. I meant it in a supportive way.

I'm getting enough greys that I'm considering dyeing it. And I hate that. I would LOVE having grey full hair, instead of having thin/no hair at all...
My dad used to say that bolding hair was "hair that prefer death over betrayal" (of your age, presumably), but I'd argue there's no greater sign of betrayal than leaving your fellow soldiers alone in the battlefield; unfortunately for me, my hair has betrayed me royally
Edit: Having said that, @spookyxelectric, I guess you could try some colouring shampoo instead of actually dyeing your hair...

That's his baby boy! It's adorable. Yeap, that's my boy and you should be thankful for me providing new blood to this dying act (of forums, I mean)
Unfortunately for him, his -currently long- hair show the same declining signs for the future

Watching "The Chris and Rosey Ramsey show" made me realise there's a demographic group that I am no longer part of - young 30s/new parents who think culture is discovering a new type of alcohol (eg ouzo).
I felt old.

There's a bit of that with their podcast. Which I have binned off because they've turned into smug fuckers.

Love a bit of ouzo. It’s my Friday so I’m on it tonight, but not too much as we’ve an early train to Disney in the morning

I really like all the anise flavoured booze, I just realised that it’s summer and I don’t have any. Need to get that sorted .

Seems Mrs Mercury is getting tested for the menopause soon, she's made my grumpyness look tame lately so hopefully things might improve there.

I only function on alcohol/caffeine and medication. Without at least one of these things my day is a disaster.
If I don't sleep on my "special" pillow I will have a bad neck for 7 days.
I can't sit down without making that "erghph" sound
I love a walk around a garden centre
My eyes are always heavy
However I have never been more content or happy.

Sitting down is fine for me, it's the getting up part where I make involuntary old man noises.
I do a decent bit of walking in a day (90 mins) whenever I'm in the office, and my right hip is getting noticeably stiff by the end of the day... Early hip replacement here we come!

Talk to a physio about that if you can, you might be able to stave that off for a decent chunk of time with certain excercises
