You get used to it. You kind of roll away from them, it’s really cool.

But, yeah, good demo. Same as the first one, one level, bosh. I got used to a lot of it by the end but there were still a few things I wasn’t doing or just didn’t understand.

I really like magic not being rationed and part of the ki meter now. I hate rationing they fun stuff.

In general, loads of people report issues but it doesn't seem consistent in every game for everyone. That's what leads them to think it could be rest mode related. However things like that always get skewed because you have people that don't have their TV in game mode etc that report it being input lag when it's just them not setting it up properly.

Yeah can't say I've ever noticed anything. I do have a luxurious LG OLED running in game mode though.

It seemed ok for me but I only had one session immediately after it was installed.

And, yeah, I think it will cook when everything clicks. At the moment there are a few too many button combos to remember but I think it will be fine when you get used to it. Knowing when to dodge and when to block, when you use magic and whatnot. I didn’t use the martial arts moves once after the tutorial because I couldn’t remember what they did.

Also graphics are a huge step up from Nioh, looks really good.

The verticality seems pretty well done. If this is what all the levels are like, it’s going to be pretty righteous.

As I have no access to the Series S until November, I thought I'd get the demo on my account before it's pulled, but if this is anything like the previous Team Ninja time limited demos, it will outright stop working when the time is up.

I think this is almost certainly the case. When you finish the demo, it gives you a similar feedback questionnaire to the one they used after the Nioh demos (likes, dislikes, was it too hard? and so on), so they are definitely in tuning mode

Don’t be afraid of using resources, using the environment and playing like a pussy until you get good. Back pedal or jump up and down ledges when you’re out of ki to recharge and heal.

To beat the bird the first time, I jumped over from the shrine, went behind it and back stabbed it, popped the summon, hit it with two r2+Square magics which set it on fire, dropped down a ledge, recharged, jumped back up and did more or less the same thing. Most enemies have a really small cone of awareness so you can get a backstab on everything.

The next time I met it, I just beat the shit out of it because I’d started to get the hang of it.

I’m definitely getting the hang of it. Hope they iron out performance though as pretty horrendous frame drops in places. This after nioh shows how much they nail combat in these games though. It feels so nice.

Tried it, really liked it, but in love with Elden Ring still. Will certainly pick it up down the line though.

It’s odd as it just sometimes drops rapidly. It seems more than a simple optimisation issue so I presume it’s the result of it not being in a final state yet.
