The summarisation thing is quite good for meetings and setting out actions, to be fair but, yeah, like visibility in one drive, you have to watch the permissions. I've been asked to look at it dumping out contents of a mail trace to pretty much anyone who asks last week. I dunno, its going to burn if not to the ground then probably to knee level soon. Its selling things people either don't want or don't want to pay for. Its impossible to see how they make money out of it, much less their investments back. Like I said on the previous page, the security stuff is cool but it costs the same as an actual human. Microsoft in particular are going to be fucked when the bottom finally falls out of this. Obviously it's now all the rage at our place. The best use I've found so far is definitely summarising. Especially long email threads that I can't be arsed to read. Vaguely helpful. Long documents, less so. And it's as shit as SharePoint in finding things.

Its value for us at the moment is that there are a few people whose names it just won’t get right in meeting transcripts. It has renamed a guy ‘Ellis’ to ‘Alice’ and keeps assigning this new mystery woman actions for things.

I would say I hope this is facetious trolling, but it really does seem like people have gone a bit insane.
Edit: Also the fact that the article keeps calling it a "painting" and "his work". Jeez.

You’re laughing but he types in hundreds of prompts to produce that. Hundreds. Of. Prompts.

Although there are a couple of Japanese words it keeps mistaking for US Army and Al Quaida, which makes the summaries quite funny at times.

Hmm, sounds like it's maybe not best suited for military intelligence use then.

All this does is automated searches that tineye etc can already do, so it can only scour info that is public already. Albeit it much quicker.
"All this" and "just" are understating this as it is concerning, but just limit what info you post online can go a long way to mitigate how invasive this is.

I saw this similarly hand waved away by tech apologists yesterday saying phones, laptops and tablets can already do this and, yeah, it’s not anything new but the point is that you generally know when a camera is pointed at you.
The concern about this is that pretty much its only application is to benefit weird freaks. It’s got no legitimate reason to exist.

You can control what you post, but you can't control what others post. You might already be tagged in numerous pictures uploaded to facebook, instagram, company team site, dating app, whatever.

So like what's already in place in China for its citizens but used by creepy men to stalk and harrass more women/harass anyone they think is trans/intimidate anyone who doesn't agree with them politically. BRILLIANT.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to handwave it away, but there's a lot users can do to limit the info out there.
Most sites even let you decide if you want to allow others to tag you etc, which most leave on by default.
Admit it's easy for me to say that as I think social media is a cancer so I avoid it as much as possible, I do appreciate others find it a useful thing.

Fine, if society really wants my sordid details at a glance, then get ready, I'm not holding back and best of all, when you see it on your AR glasses on the bus and wince, I'll be sitting right opposite you, staring.

My home address and other personal info has leaked through other users multiple times and I only learned about it much later. And once it's out there, it's out there.

Dealing with Sky(net) customer service robots that are pretending to be human is going to give me an aneurism
Edit: Of course the cancellation of an add on that the ai agreed would be done immediately has been ignored

Can you get your AI to talk to their AI and maybe they can work it out between them.
Actually, that has given me the genius idea of making an AI app that will navigate through various customer service menus, answer basic questions, etc... and then alert you if and when it finally gets through to a real human.
Though I did hear that Judgement Day was caused by the Skynet AI getting so frustrated with trying to get through to HMRC that it launched nukes in an attempt to put itself out of its own misery.

Christ. That all looked terrible. Uniformly terrible. So basically a future with no art, sorry, no art that isn't stolen. Tech bros really are the worst.
