Omfg, ran 9k tonight and my thighs are fucked.
Was at gym on Tues, but should be OK by now, & had a 30min zwift training thing last night, which was tough, but again should be ok.
My legs are going to be destroyed tomorrow.

I'm going to use the foam roller soon.
Keep an ear out for my screams of pain.

I think I heard your screams up here.
It was either that or the cats outside.

That was Day... 12? I think. Done. Don't feel as fleet footed as I did earlier in the week but still dont feel too bad, although I reeled the last two runs in to 5K each.
Going camping this weekend so I'm taking my running gear, hopefully get runs in both days.

Don't think I've ever even had 12 days on the trot actually so even this is pretty good. Quite chuffed really.

Good going wunty! I'm back into it and trying to build up again. Three days in now and have done 5k, 8k and just finished a 10k. Marathon is 12 weeks tomorrow.
Having brilliant weather along a beach front to run on is definitely helping. 😁

I think I heard your screams up here. It was either that or the cats outside. The screams *were* kind of high-pitched like an annoyed cat... My legs are still sore today, the five flights up to my floor at work were hard work. I should really be posting in the brave little soldier thread.

Looks my mission to do a half-marathon before getting my toenail removed and having to take a 6-8 week break has failed.
Went 8 miles again today miles today (1hr 16) but parenting responsibilities and having to return to the office mean between now and the procedure date I have no more free time. Basically the summer holidays has been the worst time for me to try and train in terms of available days.
Pretty happy that I have been going as well as I have since I only got serious around Easter and rarely had more than an hour or so at a time.

simple That's a shame. When do you get your toenail removed? Maybe just do some light running til then, take the break then start again after?

Managed my runs over the weekend despite being hungover and having no sleep whilst camping. Went for a good 10k on Sat up and down some mental hills and managed another 5k last night when I go home.
I'm fucked. Should manage a light 5K later though. Think this is my day 15, so after today's I'll be halfway. Whoop.

I'm updating this mainly to keep a track of my progress so if you'll indulge me a little more...
Day 15 didn't get done until 10.30pm as the wife was working so got the old headlamp out and off I went. Trouble was that I had to go out this morning so as well and I normally like to keep a good 16-24 hours between runs. Bugger it though, it's done although it was a bit trying.
So over halfway at Day 16. I'll keep going. No idea why I'm doing this, but I'll keep going.

Keep it up wunty!
I love how quickly fitness can return. A week ago I did a 5k and was struggling at the end. Just completed 21k and feel great. I love being on the beach. Being able to finish and jump into the sea was a great feeling! 😎

Good going man! You're definitely doing it right if you still feel good after a half marathon distance. I could do with running that distance again but not this month...

End of November. I'm confident after today that I can get my mileage up comfortably by then. Unfortunately, it will not be running along a flat beach in the sun...

Looks a lovely setting to be fair. Hope it's not too cold being end of November! I'm sure you'll get your distance up comfortably before then. I can't recall and I'm sure others know far more than me but I think so long as you can get it to 20 / 22 miles or so you'll be fine. Think I was about that before my marathon a couple of years back (which I'm in no fit state to do this year but have promised myself next year).

Yeah, that's the goal and I'm quite confident I can get there now. Once I'm back in the UK I want to run a lap of the course so I can see exactly what it will be like and can plan for hills etc. Looking forward to it now.

That's a good idea, least you know what you're in for then.
Day 17 ticked off this morning. 7K today. Nice and cool out so quite enjoyed it. Still waiting for these damn shoes to get delivered though, I'm practically running in my bare feet here.

17 days in a row is awesome.
How are your legs holding up?
I’ve just done 5 but back to work tomorrow so probably only two or three opportunities before I’m forced off my feet

Day 18 was my least enjoyable run for many months, absolutely hated it right from the start. I think mainly cos I didn't get enough sleep the night before. Still managed a respectable 26:03 though.

Yeah mine wasn't great either this morning. Was going to do 10K but settled for 7K again. Decent pace again but it was definitely a bit of a push.

Day 19, 7K. That was an odd one. On one hand I felt utterly fucked, yet I was giving the new trainers a turn seeing as they finally arrived last night, and they were quite... bouncy. So I maintained the same pace as yesterday despite it feeling that I had the legs of a 96 year old.
I felt so bouncy I was going to do longer but I got turned away from part of my usual route by a very nice police lady who informed me that part of the canal was now a crime scene.
