True. Plus the weird rise of people feeling personally attacked if a reviewer dislikes something they love.

It's a logical fucked up extension of digital dopamine addiction. People always looking for validation from strangers and angry when they don't find it.

OK look, I know people are entitled to their own opinion. Sometimes they don't agree with me, and that's fine.

But he may as well have just came out and said the game is really shit, because that's how brutal it was. It didn't feel like a review to me, but 45mins of just pure nitpicking for the sake of it to shit all over the game.

I get he didn't like this, but to find no redeeming qualities in it at all is just crazy.

Oh well, his loss along with the army of morons who flocked to his review using it as some kind of justification that they were right all along.

I think that Skill Up’s was fine, tbh. I can see almost all of his criticisms, I just don’t weigh them as severely as he seems to.

Something that I do mostly agree on is the combat, I just think it’s a bit weak, and yet most you playing here seem to love it. It’s fast and flashy and mashy, and it has no weight or impact or pacing. I’m seriously thinking about dropping it down to story difficulty because it’s just dull.

Do people still watch YouTube?

Well, I watch food-related stuff and animal videos...if that counts. I know Skill Up but I'm not sure I've ever watched a review of his - I just don't gravitate to video reviews for whatever reason.

Interesting that Derblington is finding the combat dull - it's my favourite part of the game and I genuinely get excited when a battle comes along. Maybe I've got lucky with my build and options, but I find there's a lot I can do, with a light layer of strategy in dealing with crowds (or bigger enemies). Every option is satisfying, though I'll admit vanilla light / strong attacks are more anodyne. 

I'm not trying to sell the game - it's plain to see it won't be for everyone and those holding out for a sale are the sensible ones. I'm just having a surprising amount of fun with it. 

Caved on this, needed something light after mainlining Silent Hill and couldn't see much on the horizon to get excited about.

So far, 10/10 for the hair, wow, no wonder it took a decade. Spent most of the four hours I've played it admiring the swishiness and detail. If I were one of the artists who'd spent time on that I'd be personally insulted if anyone role-played bald.

Same for the world design, or what I've seen so far. Whole thing looks and sounds absolutely stunning. Plays lovely, too, on performance mode PS5. I turned off most of the UI nonsense, too.

Characters are a bit annoying but not as annoying as I was expecting and I don't mind the look of them now I'm playing it myself. That said, I didn't make myself one of the giant forehead monsters because they really do look stupid.

Combat seems quite good, but will need lots of variation I think over the course to stay fun. I didn't like the mage so restarted as the warrior and enjoying that more. Started on the difficulty one up from story based on some of the feedback in here and that seems fine. I've liked the bosses most so far.

So far, I'm definitely into it.

I probably watch it more than anything else.

Depends what your interests are. Lots of hobbyists still out there with good content. Just got to search for it.

YouTube is the only streaming service I use and I don't watch live TV. I only watch it on PS5 though so ad blockers aren't really an option to my knowledge so I pay for premium, but i was paying for Spotify anyway so just switched the cost to it since it's got all my music anyway.

Never enough stuff on the other streaming services to justify subscribing full time for me so I find it easier just to let the stuff I want to watch build up and get a month once a year now and then.

The game looks stunning in the way that it makes me want to upgrade my 1080p tv.
