I guess John Linneman must be ecstatic that it's 30fps then, since his desire if it dips to the 50s for a second or two is to just lock it at 30.

I watch DF videos and enjoy them but at times they'll over-analyse things to such an Nth degree that you rather wondering why they're bothering. "Looking at this 300% zoomed in shot at 10% speed you can see these 20 pixels are aliased."

Feels like every time the Series S is hauled over the coals for only having a 30fps mode a performance mode gets patched in a few months later. Cyberpunk is a great example of a demanding game being properly optimised and scaled back accordingly, the performance mode they added recently is excellent on Series S.
Certainly not buying the Series S excuse for the X and PS5 versions of Gotham Knights running at 30fps.
It's all a bit odd, even a base Xbox One ran Arkham Knight at 900p/30fps more than adequately. Given how Gotham Knights looks in comparison you'd think 9x the GPU power would be enough to see you through to 60fps and at least 1080p for a performance mode.
This will all look incredibly silly in 6 months time when a performance mode gets patched in.

It's going to be one of those games where expectations weren't met at all. And hopefully enough whinging from fans how shit it is makes the Devs embarrassed enough to salvage it after about a year of patches.

There’s no incentive to patch design for a year. It’s not a live service title.
I don’t expect it to be particularly amazing and it clearly has issues but the previews have all said there’s something there, despite a lot of so-so stuff. I expect there will be a performance patch if it’s possible (I assume it would be but the reason given for where it stands is intrinsic to the design, so we’ll see).

Like a good diligent geek, I have been saving up my Microsoft Reward points. Firstly for Saints Row, but that was terribly received, so I'll wait for a price drop. So I thought I'd wait for Gotham Knights and that is also terribly received. I've got 105,000 MS Points, but no imminent game on the horizon worth buying.

Even if I was going to buy it, I would wait until that isnt the case (and leave it entirely if it never got there). Not having a performance mode is bad, not even being able to hit 30fps is unforgivable.
