I'm surprised that no one has been talking about this especially as a gameplay trailer was released quite recently and to be honest I can see why no one's really talking about it. Visually it looks very last gen and way behind what Arkham Knight achieved about 8 years ago, from a gameplay angle it looks really tired and stiff and the loot aspect looks pretty forced. I'm aware it's next gen only now but that seems to be because of a networking issue to get synchronous 4 player co-op but it looks nothing what a next gen game should be. Thoughts?

I was looking forward to this until that last gameplay demo honestly, for the exact reasons you've mentioned in the OP. Stiff looking gameplay and there just doesn't seem to be real improvement over a game that released 8 years ago. Regression if anything.
I'm a big fan of the Arkham games so it's a shame the formula seems to have been ditched. This looks a bit too far apart and Rocksteady's Suicide Squad will probably play quite differently too with it being a co-op based game without Bats. Maybe this will be more fun to play than it appears.

Yeah it's the same combat.
It looked like they had tightened it up quite a bit in the latest ign video and got some weight back into it.

It's similar but from what I recall this one has no counters and also has enemy health bars
It did look poor in the past, haven't seen the latest video though

And world traversal looks awful with the hoping-on-air and teleporting crap.
But I'm playing the Arkham games atm and I kind of want this anyway.

The teleporting looked like something from an early prototype not a game that's gone gold and coming out in two months.
I think this one is going to turn out "okay" at best, it just doesn't look too great.

You're not imagining it. Arkham Knight was really a visual powerhouse when it launched. If it were to get a 4K patch on PS5 and Series X, it'd still look pretty impressive.

Perhaps but there are some games you want to buy and keep forever whereas this is the game that you feel like you'll be disappointed in if you paid full price money for it. A true Gamepass game.

Yeah, they're up there with Namco and Sega as the biggest supporters of GamePass.
Also their games are seemingly on sale like every 3 weeks.
