Umm, thhhuughm uut wwwuuubbly. Ggguuummm.
Sorry, got a tallywacker caught in my mouth. I thought that was great. It is strange how you can get so attached to characters in this, despite their relatively short screen presence. Unless they completely mess this up, it is a solid 10/10 show.

Still just slowly getting through this but fuck me Episode 6 was amazing. Best Star Wars thing since the originals by quite a distance.

I agree. I know loads of people that aren’t watching this cos of how shit everything else has been, and think I’m insane for saying it’s the best thing since empire.

The Mandolorian was a remake of the Saturday evening westerns. This is a remake of the Secret Army and the like (ww2 Belgian resistance drama).
It's great.

Latest episode just really highlights how this whole show is lightning in a bottle with everyone at their very highest level, from actors to set design. Even Serkis as the guest star is able to say one thing but you can see in his face how he really feels. The last line as well, so amazingly cathartic and sets up next week so perfectly. I cannot wait.

It feels like they got a very talented person to make it and left him to make it. Boba felt like some shit pumped out of a committee by people in a rush.
It’s easily the best SW in years, hopefully they realise this world building approach is better than the fan service shite.

I'm not sure if I should applaud this or hope Doctor Gorst has a session with its creator.

I think this is a show that had a very clear story to tell that was put into the Star Wars universe. Other shows, Kenobi and Fett especially, had a Star Wars universe to sell and a first draft of a story was shoved into that universe and filmed

Kenobi was a two hour film script that they then turned into a 6 hour TV series. It shows with the pacing - there’s some good stuff in there plus a few hours of poor quality, which is a combination of budget and filler.
Boba Fett was just rubbish. No idea who thought that show with that plot was a good idea.

Shitty Space vespa fans probably.
God Boba fett was such a steaming pile of shit. I still laugh at how shite that cyberpunk scooter 'chase' was.

My brother in law is one of those that says Andor is too boring, citing that he doesn't like the characters and there isn't any known characters in it. I had mentioned that there were 3 episode arcs this series leading to a 2 episode finale and he says "Oh right, so maybe Ahsoka can come into it then for a big finale or something". Just really made me realise that is what Mandlorian S2 and Book of Boba has done, sections of SW fans hoping and praying to clap at any cameos that come in. There was an article last week about a theory that Andy Serkis character was actually the origin story of Snoke. Its so dumb.

Sign me up to the list, I love Andor. Apart from Fiona Shaw, weirdly, because she is normally so good. I love her character, but the dithery delivery doesn’t do it for me.

I find it hard to impossible to not look at those who find Andor boring, or too slow, or just not very interesting with utter contempt.

The Star Wars Theory YouTube channel, which has 3.3 million subscribers, thinks it's boring and hates it. What's funny is about 99% of the comments to his live stream watching it are people saying how fantastic it is and he's very wrong.

Star Wars is great because its world is rich had some great ideas and characters, it was also an early mainstream success. It has hardly moved on in 40 years. It has been surpassed in terms of storytelling and production by all kinds of other sci-fi, fantasy, dramas etc time and again. Andor surpasses all the other modern Star Wars stuff by bringing it up to date in ways that matter to people that care about that. Anyone that hates Andor is just afraid, fearful. And we all know where that leads.

Another fine episode.
I was particularly impressed with the nod to ANH Leia interrogation scene with the camerawork as the door closes and the imperial walks off - anyone else catch that?

Ahhhh bloody hell I'd forgotten all about the shit biker gang in Boba Fett.
Urgh.
It's been said a few times here, but the Empire in this are how they should be. Sinister, cold blooded, and just downright nasty.

That is the thing. TESB worked so well because it established that the Empire was a real threat. Andor has done that again, but they are much more brutal than we have ever seen. Even in the old EU they are pussycats compared to Andor.

It makes you really appreciate the unstoppable reach and brutality of the empire, maybe more so than any other show, because it’s ordinary people affected rather than Jedis or armoured super soldiers.

That factory is really quite something, I spent that episode bouncing between being genuinely quite horrified and trying to dismiss a semi whenever Dedra does that eyebrow twitch and sneer combo of hers.
It's definitely time for a part of Starwars to grow up because this is fucking ace.
