I gather Ben Bailey Smith is in this? Is he a goodie or baddie?
Must admit I've tuned out of most Star Wars but I'll give this a go when it's all out. Should be ready for Christmas, yes?

I only started this this week as I was watching a few other shows (inc Lotr - which I actually really liked).. All caught up. It’s incredible. Can’t really put into words how I feel about it - as there is a lot to say! But yeah I guess I just want to echo many of the comments on this and the previous page. When is next Wednesday?

The only disappointment with Andor is when the episode finishes and so I have another week to wait. It’s bloody brilliant.

I’m resigned to and begging to enjoy the wait. In so much as the excitement of waking up on Wednesday

I assume what they're building is structural components for starships but I bet we never find out. First thought was the chassis for a probe droid of some sort - other rooms or floors building the heads and lower limbs. Might factor into a possible escape seeing as they're deep underwater. And that short pan shot of Saw's sniper fella with the black-marking X-wing behind... oh my. Didn't recognise what was coming at first, but loved that simple introduction.

Really fantastic gripping dialogue between Luthen and Saw. Thats just the magic of watching 2 powerhouse actors go at it. This episode didn't have Darth Vader or the Emperor. No Sith. No Death Star. But they certainly made the Empire still scary and cruel. Torture, intimidation, jail time, gamifying manual labour. The grounded nature of what's happening makes it so believable.

Everything in the prison felt very late-70s sci-fi and in more of a harsh Rollerball kind of way than a cost New Hope one. Very well done.

Can’t be arsed linking to the photo but there’s at least one clear direct visual reference to THX 1138 in the prison. The shot of the three officers in black coming out of the lift, washed out in white as they became more defined; yet another gorgeous shot in this show which has now had more than Kenobi and Fett combined

There was on shot of Vel and Kaz where one fades out and another fades in on opposite sides of the screen that I thought was really nicely done. Nothing dramatic, no swishy transitions, but something done with a light touch. Probably just me, but I thought it was neat.

Just catching up with this, up to episode 5. It's a bit fucking good isn't it. Comparing it to Boba Fett is like comparing the prequels to the originals.

It's like comparing Captain America: The Winter Soldier with virtually everything else in the MCU, it's very much a different animal despite being in the same universe.

Bloody good this. Not got my universe timeline to hand but could we see a possible full crew of the Ghost at some point?

As a “filler” episode that was just fantastic. The prison section was excellent, and it was great to see the people left on Ferrix back agaon. Only another 6 days…

Has now replaced Severance as my best TV show of the year. Finally given in to watching Rogue One again in the meantime between episodes. Let’s hope it holds up.

Ep9 was fantastic too. The tension and dread that’s building, often through small, personal stories is just a pleasure to watch. Painful to wait a week for each episode, but maybe better for the pacing of the show. It’s dark and all the better for it.

If I was making anything in Star Wars and watching Andor I'd be thinking I'd need to be on my A game after it, the show blows everything else out of the water.
Also the space Nazis really are Nazis not just dumb baddies in cool uniforms that can't shoot very well. There's a little wave in #9 that should normally be something friendly and yet it really, really wasn't.

“Never more than 12”
No no, don’t you dare!! You fuck!!
Another week to wait. Argh!!!
I said it before; this show has to be causing conniption fits among anyone involved in producing future SW shows and movies. It would be like being in a backing band knowing they are going on stage after James Brown.

"Ooooh, someone's changed their tune !" Really nice twist at the base of that rumour, thought it was that the facility was a bit more broken/struggling than we realised or something, given the clues thus far. Nope, far, far worse.

"So the people go in here?" "That's right, then they work their sentence." "So where do they come out." "Here's the neat part, they don't."

Dunno what's going on with Cyril and the blond bird. I thought we were going to see an angry weird awkward alleyway sex scene for a moment Another great episode.
