It's Star Wars but not Star Wars, the finale was excellent.

There were a few times I exclaimed, “Yes.”, and “Get in.” And I loved it all.
I need the soundtrack as well. Who would have thought that someone could make Star Wars for Star Wars fans, probably none Star Wars fans as well, so fucking brilliantly?

I hadn't realised until today that the guy who plays the Time Grappler (matey with the hammers and the anvil) is Neil Bell, which is either a coincidence or a bit of nominative determinism in casting. Cracking work from him with his unwanted visitor.

Not started this yet but have a week off work next week - hoping to go through the lot.
Will I even like this considering I wasn't a fan of Rogue One?

Very satisfactory. Even the predictable bits made me feel smart. Seemed obvious Constable Chin would save the SS woman at some point, but still awesomely played.
Was also very smug that the post-credits sequence confirmed my theory about the parts they were manufacturing in the prison.
Also glad that Axis didn’t whip out a lightsaber, that Bix is not “just fine now” and that series of speeches - first from the dead boy, and then from the dead Mum, fucking stellar work. I also think this is very timely, given the worlds slide towards authoritarianism. The fight against the next Hitler is probably going to be lead by nerds.

The only thing with it is that it builds over mini arcs - it takes it's time to set stuff up and it's not action packed (although the set pieces when they do come are excellent and move the story forward rather than just being eye candy).

Well that most certainly did not shit the bed. Still played against expectations of big modern entertainment. No Hollywood moments beyond some ‘go on get the bastards!’ bits
What a payoff to all those hours of character building. I was teary eyed and full of swollen chest for pretty much the entire second half. The tension built up during that procession was getting unbearable, then released at just the right moment in such a superbly scripted and carried out manner
The self assurance of this show I think is what gives it so much strength. The charity of purpose and execution that has been lacking in Disney SW is made so starkly clear by how determined this show was to not beg for your attention. Right up until the final scene. No cliffhanger to bait you for areas on two. Andor knows you’re watching season two because you want to keep following the characters and their story.
Masterful stuff. I don’t feel hyperbolic in wondering if this might usher in a wider change in how streaming TV engages its audience

Ep12 spoiler, not a major point though ‘Where do you want this box of grenades then mate?
‘Leave ‘em over there pal, next to the ammo crates’ 😬

What a fucking series, good God. I can’t remember the last time I felt such a feeling of catharsis. All hail Fiona Shaw. But of course this is not a normal show so.. there is no triumph over overwhelming odds - the ferrix townspeople get shot and killed and ultimately lose. And Bix is still (maybe permanently) traumatised.
I’m glad B2 survived though. Had my heart in my throat when he was “playing along” during the funeral. No easy victories. No simple answers. Just brilliant television. FIGHT THE EMPIRE!

I was somewhat disturbingly excited at the prospect of someone getting kicked to fucking death there. That would have been cathartic. Makes you wonder if their fate has already been written and it’s even worse than that

Yeah I know what you mean. Honestly I have never hated the empire as much as I hated them in that scene.

The steady March towards being a fully committed rebel that this show was given over ten hours to bring about: imagine if Anakin’s path to the Dark Side could be told with such depth

It’s probably ruined Star Wars for me now. I hope the Ahsoka series will be good but prior live action series aren’t in the same league. To think we went from mopeds in Mos Eisley to stirring treaties about the nature of rebellion within the space of a year.

I’d be amazed if the Ashoka show runners aren’t ‘awww fuck’ing it these last few weeks. I mean, there’s basically zero chance it’s going to meet the quality bar set by Andor. Just have to hope it’s a lot more Mandolorian than Boba Fett.

Good end, not as good as the prison sequence, but still. The suspense with the march etc. Brill.
I also just got to relish once again how good the set design is. Ferrix was a real, and tangible place.
Haven't seen boba fett, but this was 1000x better than the mandalorian, which was of course trying something different, but it's like Saturday morning cartoon Vs literary masterpiece.

To create such a grounded, incredible story and not shit the bed at any point is seriously impressive considering 95% of this wonderful universe is fanboy shite now. One of those rare works where you can feel the dedication from every angle to bringing a proper, strong vision to life and fuck what anyone else thinks or wants. Still surprised Disney made it.
Ending was never going to match the prison break, but it was brilliant. Season 2 starts next Wednesday, right?

What an episode and series.
I’m a big fan of the Empire being shown as a credible threat and they’ve never looked more scary than the reality of fascism this series has shown.
Every performance has been brilliant in a way I don’t think any other version of Star Wars has managed consistently. And the visual style of the whole thing has been spot on throughout.
Hopefully they’re allowed to stick with whatever their plans are for season 2 without too much outside interference and meddling now the show has attracted such good press.

Andor uses the language of cinema to an extent we’ve rarely seen on TV, let alone in a Star Wars effort. I’d be shocked if film studies courses don’t have classes on this show next year b

Andor finale was disappointing for one reason. We didn't see Dr Gorst getting it I kid of course, wonderful finale. One of the best seasons of TV, didn't think I would feel this way again after something like Black Sails S2 or even Severance this year. Let alone from a Star Wars show. Eager to watch it all again over Christmas.

The sense of threat and peril in this was tangible. I love what they did with the Empire, apart from one scene in the prison break. Everything else was class. There was a part of me that was thought this show is so brave in the decisions it made, that when Dedra was caught by the crowd and dragged off, I thought they might have the guts to kill her. It could have been motivation for chin guy to go completely rogue. But I am glad that didn’t happen, and went the more predictable route. Just such a great character.
