The key is that the show has already shown physical and emotional torture - and that's enough to be a threat and raise the tension. Him and Mon Mothma might not die, but they're clearly going to suffer for the cause.

I think Saw Gerrera was the one misstep from R1 that they could really put right in Andor. He’s had to move his base, he’s badly injured in R1 and a thorn in the side of the Rebellion. Rich pickings for the writers here and Forest Whittaker is an S-tier actor.

I think it's less that and more that he knew he had to inspire the spy, so picked his attire accordingly.
I would like a non-canon one-shot spin off where him, Lando and Krennic are buying their capes though.

Have we done the whole Luthen giving off serious Jedi vibes thing I really really really hope he isn’t. It would ruin the character for me.

Don't know if it's intentional, thematic or if I'm reading too much into it but the prisoner uniform colours were white and orange same as the Rebels.

Started this. Didn't expect such a hilariously British cast, made up almost entirely of people that have done The Bill/ Casualty/ Midsommer Murders

First couple of eps are ok but I'm not entirely sure what the goal is yet. Suitably intrigued.

geefe - it definitely ramps up in ep3, but won’t say more. I’m on a rewatch. Started at ep3 and currently on ep8. It stands up extremely well

Just watched 9 and 10, stayed up late as couldn't wait as things were building so awesomely.
So, this is better than GoT, this should be the TV show of the year.
It feels a bit like it could do for star wars what Prisoner of Azkaban did for Harry Potter film series. What came before (in terms of Disney star wars) has been fairly derivative, fan service, if for most part well done and enjoyable.
But this has character, suspense, believability and great acting. The baddies are proper baddies but they don't get too cartoony, except for maybe Dr Gorst. And it is letting the actors and writing do the work, even if the action is also top notch. The episode 10 end action sequence was up there with battles from Saving Private Ryan or Gladiator.
There isnt a plot line that isn't done well and performed well by the actors. I even think Mon Mothma is perfect.

The absolute contempt and boiling hatred she has for this man while keeping up a polite political facade was just great acting.

I just can’t get over how 500 minutes in and this hasn’t put a single foot wrong yet. TLJ shat the bed within five minutes, BoBF was a near constant stream of the skitters except them two episodes where Imodium had been taken. Even Mando made skid marks a few times before getting halfway through the first season.
Andor just proves what happens when you have great writers and aren’t in such a rush that you start shooting the moment they have an idea for an episode
The dialogue in 10 is so on another level it’s not funny
I really truly fear for my heart during these closing two episodes

The only other new show this year that matches Andor in the quality stakes for me this year is Severance.

Is this nearly finished? I started watching the first two EPs when it first aired and then wanted to wait for a couple of months as had a few subscriptions jostling for attention so D+ went. Quite fancy grabbing another month for this going by the glowing response to it on here.

Bit of a strange one, surely showing the first three would make sense?

This to me is currently the TIE FIGHTER of Star Wars films/TV. This is the first SW property where I’ve felt like TIE Fighters are terrifying. Edit: in those episodes where you hear the sound before the characters.. awful stuff. I was shouting “FUCKING HIDE!!” hahaha

TIE fighters were fine for the job they were designed for when playing TIE Fighter and that's hassling people who really couldn't fight back, going up against starfighters and capital ships with shields and they're only useful in swarms.

It's not over tho? There's 2 more episodes to go. I thought there were 10 episodes and the prison break was the season final. Colour me happy!

By episode 10 we’ve already ascended to the Tie Defender. What’s in store for the Emperor’s Hand in these last two episodes?

So many things going on in that episode it's going to be nuts how they end the season. Quite funny how my comment about TIE fighters was proven accurate so quickly!

Felt the same, and this latest episode has leaned even further towards it imo. The prominent 'stick/cane' shot, the ease of the combat.... Ugh, I hope he's just good and the former is a red herring.
