Taking a break from RDR2. Completed Return to Monkey Island and thought I'd give Crusader Kings 3 a go. I like the concept but bloody hell is it confusing. I'm doing the tutorial but it’s just throwing loads of random stuff at me. I'm thinking it might be one of those games where you have to learn by doing (and failing). I'll stick with it a bit as I think it could be good, but I've got a feeling I'm going to end up getting too frustrated with it. CK2 is the only game I've ever played where I had to watch a 2 hour YouTube video of a guy playing the game and explaining some core concepts. I tried the tutorial and it explained the menus but not what you were actually meant to try and do. It's a good game when it clicks though. Yeah I can’t be arsed with that. I’ll probably just play for a bit, get confused and frustrated then move on!

Been playing Ratchet & Clank : Rift Apart (PS5)
I got it with my PS5 but other than loading it up to have a look at the pretty graphics I’ve never played it. I ended up buying the PS4 game around the same time so thought I’d play that and move into this but I never did
I’ve only played R&C since the PS3 so I think this is the 5th one but I’m finding it quite dull compared to the others, there’s no humour in it all, the weapons aren’t as fun as usual and the levels are badly designed at times

It will probably get better Jambo, only just started. I think I need to move on faster rather than trying to find all the secrets

I enjoyed R&C Rift Apart but my favourite was Crack in Time. The puzzles were great and I enjoyed the space flight battles with the moon hopping mini levels in space. Mixed it up well imo.
Rift Apart is an amazing looking game, no question about that though.

I think I got to step 1 of the tutorial, where it told me to pick a wife and gave me a list of different potential wives from different regions. And I had no idea how I was supposed to choose one and what criteria mattered. And I spent ages trying to choose. And I don't think I ever made it past that.

Slaughter slaughter pirate life is no bother!
AC black flag
Really not doing that assasin thing whatsoever.
Parkour yes.
Sneaking, stealth stabbing, distraction?
Who needs that.
Just run straight at the target and stab him in plain view. Then kill everyone or just parkour away.
Pirate life is a good life.

Put a bit more time into CK3 last night. Did the war in the tutorial and then spent some time marrying off family members. Still have no real idea what a good marriage is though. I think I now have some kind of alliance with a Welsh kingdom, and my daughter is betrothed to another Irish kings son. But then I was advised to go to war with that king due to some claim that arose out of what I think was a failed military training drill.
So yeah, still no idea what the fuck is going on. Kind of like it though.

Wild Hearts (PS5)Many thanks Ulythium for suggesting I give this a go after not getting on with the combat in Monster Hunter World. I'm only a few hours in but am already enjoying this more. The combat is faster paced and you have a lot more mobility, the beasts go down a lot quicker, and it just generally feels a lot more forgiving and willing to let you play it on your own terms, with fewer finicky systems you need to use and some major QoL improvements over MHW. The summonable boxes and springboards give you a lot of options and it sounds like there will be plenty more tools to unlock. Plus it has some cool world traversal stuff you can build which reminds me a bit of Death Stranding, oddly.

Biped This is remaining a fun little game about moving your cute ungainly little robot through some colorful environments. Nothing outrageously deep or mindblowing, but a good way to unwind (at least in singleplayer). I wonder if it's going to get bastard hard in the later stages.

Finally got round to clicking on that RDR2 icon. Just got to chapter 2. The size and scope puts me off trying to do anything on a work night though, so reinstalled Vampire Survivors to finish the content added since my last play.
Also have a skirmish game in Beyond All Reason (open source TA clone) I just can't beat and keep going back for another try. It's me Vs Scavenger AI on a metal map with unit numbers and resource and build multipliers set high. Even my bases which are made up of huge phalanxes of Bertha gatlings and end game defence bases and massive armies of those titan units just get worn away by the endless flood of mobs.

I spent 40 minutes trying to find a fucking key in the cistern in Tomb Raider. Absolutely insane to put the key on a high ledge. Bloody old game design.

Sega news makes me try to play shinning force 2 again.
I got fairly far in 2002 but then dropped it. Because of time or was too difficult But I enjoyed it.
Got it on steam but didn't really play it.
Kinda from time to time I regret not completing it...

Spare a thought for those of us that played it before the patches.
The key used to be so small you could literally run right over it without noticing it....which is what I did multiple times before resorting to a guide.

See I didn't check that ledge you shimmy over. I had opened the right door, and the left door which I knew had a way round, when you lower the water was where I needed to go. So I assumed I had messed up, by using the key on the right door first.. ffs.

Sid Meier's Assassin's Creed really is the best when you are sailing around and pirating and stuff. The assassin bits seem tacked on in comparison, like they only needed them because it was an entry in the series. I really oughta replay this someday, even though I'm not a fan of open world games lately, I wouldn't mind getting on the high seas again. Wish it got the FPS Boost treatment like AC Unity. I could try on PC but apparently it's a bad port...

You have to assemble the fourth A by finding 142 parts scattered around the map. As a pirate would do.

I spent too much (edit: time) reading up on various facts about Icewind Dale and eventually ended up making a (hopefully) solid party. I did not expect that there would be this much confusion, but the manual doesn't account for patches and the expansion made further changes. Some implementations differ from Pen and Paper and then on top of it some things don't matter anyway, because characters will never develop far enough. A lot of information is simply not displayed anywhere in-game. Good luck on finding any information on what Luck is or what Bard Songs do or how initial saves are determined. The manual helps in some cases, but not in others.
In any case, I'm through Kresselack's Tomb and have moved on the Temple. For some reason I have almost no memory of the latter.

Minishoot Adventure (Steam) It's oldschool Zelda but you're a little twin stick ship and combat is bullet hell-ish. Currently -25% off for 11 euros and there's also a demo. Trailer/gameplay in spoiler tags: Reminds me of Pixeljunk games in terms of style, mood and polish and that's great. Difficulty seems adequate to a normie like me (fairly relaxed on normal, nothing like full-on bullet hell shmups so far), but there are difficulty settings and assists if desired. 4 hours in and I can't stop playing. Not sure about replay value but for the time being it's pretty great.
