Wrong thread for this, you should have posted in the Tough Night At Work thread. Can you try to change to less noisy room?

As far as the chips go, definitely.

KFC chips seem to have changed every time I go there. They can be lovely or they can be horrible cold soggy messes. At least McDonalds are consistently OK.
Sounds like a shit situation. Hopefully you can get moved to the other end/back of the hotel and get a room with a decent set of blinds if you ask nicely.

As far as the chips go, definitely. Those new kfc chips are rank. To the point I have stopped eating there.

The chips in both are rank, at least a zinger burger is good.

You need the gravy to dip the chips into, can only get the mash and gravy here. The mash is horrible so just swipe the gravy from the top.

I had a glorious interaction with a senior manager this week.
He sent me an email asking if we has something lined up on our schedule.
Replied: Yep, later in November.
The response: Good job genius! You just leaked confidential Information.
So he’d asked me this question with someone in cc then got angry because I replied to his question on the same email chain.
I rarely use this word, but what a cundlebob.

rawsharkBut...but..they literally asked you a question which you answered and then got upset when you did...I don't understand. The tone sounds awful as well. Like the bastard set you up. Least next time you can just say you can't tell them as it's confidential.

100% their fault. Cc implies you want the other person to have that information, otherwise you bc them.

Next time they'll moan because you removed the CCed address before replying to them.

Not quite the same but corporate security often send out emails trying to catch us out. Three strikes and we go through disciplinary process. Best thing to do is never respond to any emails. Ever.

Yeah, using something like knowbe4 for simulated phishing is pretty common practice. Disciplinary sounds a bit extreme, though. We had absolutely shocking click rates when we first introduced it in my last job, half the company would've been put on disciplinary! rawshark - he sounds like a prize cunt.

They do that spoof email stuff at ours too. I’ve had a few meetings and requests unanswered as people assume it’s a trick :/

I think they call it an 'action plan' first but then disciplinary proceedings thereafter if you don't meet targets set...

Disciplinary isn't the right consequence for simulated phishing. The right response is to provide feedback and improve training. I (as a security advisor) think it's absolutely necessary to do simulated training - just learning the theory of phishing avoidance is generally very ineffective. But I also think that to develop good corporate security you must foster an environment of no judgement. People should adhere to security principles because they believe that these principles are good and working for the benefit of everyone at the company, not because they're afraid of backlash. The recent Cloudflare attack was a good example of how to handle this: blog.cloudflare.com/2022-07-sms-phishing-attacks/

This week marks my tenth year at my company, which means I’ve been around long enough to be pulled into various gatherings where we congratulate the long-standing member of the team and they do a little speech and get given a plaque or something. So I spruced myself up and prepared a short but funny speech and…
Nothing. Went into a meeting where the department director gushed about her daughter smashing her A-Levels for ten minutes, said how we were going to miss someone who was leaving and that was it.
I honestly wish it didn’t upset me.

That sucks - I always have mixed emotions with these things as I hate being in the spotlight and actively avoid it, and then sulk internally when my avoidance is a success.
