Looked really good but Bethesda really needs to finally upgrade their face tech, it's not quite as bad as Nic Cage in Dead by Daylight but it sticks out as pretty damn poor for a lot of the characters. It’s a little weird how inconsistent it is. I don’t think the faces look very bad overall, but some faces could have been in any RPG from the past 10 years, then you have the companion in the red jacket whose clearly had more time devoted to her, with her lifelike hair. |

Consider me very impressed. I just need to know that performance is solid, that's my only concern with this game. I need a solid 60fps, not sure that it will be achievable. Time will tell.

Nice but sucks it's a digital code. TBH, that sounds better to me, because it’s not as if games actually read discs anymore, it’s just install and disc check. So to just have the code, it means you could get the physical junk you want then play the game without inserting the disc every time. That said, the fuck do you need a steelbook case for if there’s no disc? |

First thought is to run a Red Dwarf vibe, Dave Lister sweet talking and blasting thru the galaxies.

I think you could build something structurally similar, but you'd need a rotating cockpit so it can land on its back. Hmmm. |

I will play this and suddenly look up to find I haven't been outside in ten years. I will play this intensively for 1-2 weeks and then get tired of it and suddenly stop. A year later I'll spend two days installing mods, then play for an hour and never touch it again.
And that's fine, I'm not dissing it, it's just what I expect from any Bethesda game.

Colour me cautiously optimistic after that. Plenty of promise just a bit concerned that all the procedural stuff could fall flat.
The cities looked amazing as did the handcrafted bits in general. Decent potential for some good narrative.
Finding an outpost only to have miscellaneous bandits immediately open fire is more of a worry. Looked very generic that bit. I like to know why I'm fighting.

Not gonna lie, I'm a bit gutted I won't be able to play this as a PS5 owner. It looks like a much prettier No Man's Sky (No Man's Skyrim?). The story, characters and dialogue seem horribly dull and generic though. Hopefully you can ignore all that and just fart about roleplaying in space. It's gonna be really interesting to see how it holds up technically, and if Todd and Bethesda really can redeem themselves.
