I remember I used to think Nack the Weasel looked cool. But he was only used in Triple Trouble and Sonic the Fighters.
Maybe because his games weren't developed by Sonic Team, he wasn't considered canon.

Bioware did a Sonic RPG for DS that I always kind of regret not picking up. Especially since it came out at the height of my Bioware love.

I'm a little worried...the latest trailer is making it look quite...good.
But, as a long time Sonic fan I'm sure I'll be disappointed. Sonic Team will find a way to break it.

It sort of looks like Mario Odyssey with a Sonic theme. Could be good, depending on the strength of the puzzles.
I really want to see a Sonic game that finally embraces Sonic's key characteristic... his speed.
I'd like to play a Sonic game that's all about the 'perfect run' through the level.
Time every jump to perfection, without losing speed and momentum, and you can reach the end of the level.
There could be speed traps that you have to hit at a certain speed to open doors ahead of you.
There could even be puzzles that require Sonic to scout ahead and do some slower platforming to find levers to open doors, or to move an object out of the way, or move a ramp into position, before returning to the start of the level (the top of 'the slope' if you will) and attempt a clean, fast run to the end, with a giant leap over a chasm to reach the finish.

3D Sonic has never had that because of the over emphasis on speed. He zips around at 10 times the speed of the old 2D games. Precision is something that has to become locked into basic, rigid, snappy functions.
I think thats my biggest complaint with the series. Sonic 1 and 2 had a flow to them. Movement was fluid and whilst there were moments of flair and speed in 2, you still had overall control over Sonic and could influence his momentum more naturally. Sonic 4 exposed the limitations of the 3D Sonic games on a 2D plane, with the weird acceleration Sonic has now and how in order to emphasise speed you're locked into tunnels, loops or rails. Its a speed that no player could reasonably control and thus its those moments that are taken away from the player. I strongly dislike it.
Slow it down I says. SLOW IT DOWN!

Funnily enough that's one of the things I didn't like about Generations. It felt like it was more about memorisation and practice to get a good time/rank rather than just a fun platform game. I don't mind speed running but I'm not a fan of it being baked into the core game. I've played Sonic 2 a dozen times and couldn't really tell you a thing about the level layouts but became really familiar with the Generations ones before realising I don't really care about getting high scores
And yeah, the controls were annoying at that point as well. Bumping into things because you don't know the layout at first and then missing things because the controls aren't great later. There was a section at the start of the Chemical Plant stage where you jump to the left onto a different path, hit two bounce pads and then need to make a free jump off another platform to hit a red ring and the last part is such a pain in the arse that I was restarting over and over trying to get it. Wasn't fun

That's a much better trailer, but it still doesn't alleviate some of the concerns about how combat works and the enemies. Those still seem to be the same in the small snippets they showed.

No Jun Senoue or Crush 40 on either Colors or Forces, thankfully. I was never a fan. I always really liked the Forces soundtrack. Some of the vocal tracks gave me Final Fantasy XIII-2 vibes.
