I kind of wish they'd gone for the Master System versions - whilst essentially the same as the GG versions, I think the MS was slightly more zoomed out so you could see around you more easily.
I also wonder how good the ports will be. Look like they'll be simple emulations.
Still missing the MD version of Spinball and Sonic 3D (which isn't great but if we're being completionist...)
Guess that'll be in the Plus Plus pack.

How hard could it really be to do a definitive retro Sonic compilation? Then maybe add in the Advance games as DLC. Sonic 4 can stay fucked though. |

Guess that'll be in the Plus Plus pack. Just including both for all of the ones that came out on SMS too (I recall some later games were GG only) would have been the simplest solution. I remember that Sonic 1 SMS and GG had totally different end boss. The old Sega Ages Wonderboy Collection for Japan PS2 was really good for having a wide range if formats, not just ine for each game. |

I’d like to see a completed version of Sonic Xtreme out of morbid curiosity. But what I’d really like is a rebuilt Sonic All Star Racing Transformed. Still probably my favourite kart game of all time. Leave out anything with license issues if you must but it’s way too good a game to leave on the PS3/Xbox 360 generation.

All Star Racing Transformed really is one of the best car games ever, I genuinely like it more than any of the Mario Karts.
Not even sure there would be that many licensing issues as they're all Sega games referenced?
Have it on my PC and it scales incredibly well, it wouldn't even need much work to be remastered.

pierrepressurePretty straight racing, but they were a real love letter to Sega's history. Lots of characters from various Sega games, but the tracks also themed around different Sega games, like Golden Axe, Afterburner, Jet Set Radio, as well as Sonic levels. Tbh I loved the 2nd game the most. The first game was fine but All Star Racing Transformed was exceptional. Haven't played the 3rd Kart game yet tbh, it just didn't appeal as much.

Basically you had a world map and had to pass various challenges to continue. Mostly racing but there were also drift challenges, time trials, and a pursuit game that was easily the worst bit of the game. It was surprisingly rock hard too. But what I found was if you got through to the higher levels and then played online multiplayer, you’d be absolutely shit hot as it really did ask you to master every course. |
