I've put about 70 hours into Cyberpunk on Xbox Series X, but maybe half of that has been by streaming to the Deck through Greenlight.
Outrun C2C looks great on the OLED, phwoar.

Greenlight has been great for Slay the Spire and checking out game pass games quickly.

I need to have a look at that. I've just been using the MS recommended steps for cloud streaming, which works a treat for me. Would be nice to have console streaming too though.

I only just switched to the flat pack install that I can actually update, was a nice improvement between the 2 versions.

Awesome. When I’m expecting a new toy I spend all my time googling reviews and guides.

Awesome. When I’m expecting a new toy I spend all my time googling reviews and guides. I already did that and Rog ally comparisons before ordering because I had to wait until payday ... I've now gone through loads of my games to find videos of how they play on a deck. Loads of my backlog are ideal deck fodder

Already tinkering, I should be working.
I fired up Expandabros and limited it to 60. According to the metrics I should get around 7-8 hours. I changed the TDP down to see how it changed and it was still running comfortably at 60fps at 5w. The estimated duration didn't change though.
Does the OS intelligently use power but the TDP slider is for me to articially conatrict it's power budget for heavier games?

Some games aren't as good at handing idle time back so it's worth it on lower spec games too if you want to try and squeeze another hour or two out of it. If you're getting 8 hours without, you might even want to go as low as 3W and see what happens.
That said, since getting the OLED one I haven't really bothered with messing with TDP, partly because of the extra battery life and partly because of the less annoying fan. Even at full tilt it's very tolerable.

Same, I've been able to treat the OLED much more as a console due to not needing to tinker with it. It's a lot more straightforward with the better battery and quieter fan.

3 is too far and the FPS goes to 14 or so. It actually runs cracking at 4w. That's nuts.
Put zomboid on there, there's a lot of buttons but it actually works great. I love it. I love it

Does everybody get constant shader updates queued up for games on theirs? Used mine a few days ago and it had 70ish updates to churn through. Powered it on now and there's another 70.
I realise what they're for, but thought this kind of frequency was expected nearer to the SD's launch, not a couple of years after... I've given mind a quick factory reset anyway, as I really don't need that amount of games installed in the first place and can't be arsed going through them manually. Plus it probably brought some jank along for the ride when I switched my old SDD into the OLED model.

I think it’s a known bug, happens on reboot.

Don’t think it’s a bug, it just has different shader caches for different firmware versions.

You’ve got 70+ games installed?

I did have, yeah. They were mostly smaller/older games.
I've just factory reset it and have already found 36 to install from a quick scan through my library:D

Have to RMA mine, started having an issue where it would crash coming back from suspend while playing cult of the lamb. I hadn't really experienced it before but then it started happening with other games which kind of killed the whole purpose of the device so I decided to start researching.
Seems like a rare enough reported issue and seems it's hardware related. At least Valve were pretty quick to offer to RMA it given it's barely over a year old with not too much usage

This little device that could is actually brilliant. I've installed Batman Arkham Asylum and it runs fantastic. Been saving a play through of the trilogy, guess I'm starting now.
It's currently down as not compatible but with ProtonGE it just runs

I bet Metal Gear Solid 5 would be perfect if it works. 3rd person games work great on handheld.

I've only got a few games on at the moment. Never seems to be enough time. Going to try and get EmuDeck up and running. There are some other utils that can do various things with the look and feel of the interface but not had much time to look at those either.
Shown a few friends and the reaction to seeing Ori is a proverbial "Oooohhh!!!'

If you happen to have access to one of those retro handhelds you have a bios folder that's perfect for emudeck.

Just grabbing a bootable Batocera SD card image is a quick and dirty way of getting something 100% working with nice thumbnail art etc.
No need to faff about in desktop mode (not that emudeck is a faff), just boot from the card and when you're done reboot into steamOS

Wasn't aware of Batocera. May have to give that a go.
I managed to set up Emudeck seemingly fine with a shit ton of SNES roms (although those turned out to be a bit of a mess, with a load of random stuff), but not had much luck whenever I've gone back to add anything new. Think I'll have to start again with Emudeck, but giving Batocera a go might be a better bet.
