Slaps aside, I think it was a pretty infantile joke, making fun of somebody appearance because of a disease.
That could be fine depending on the setting (eg a roast), but not sure the Oscars was it.
it is all context tho - as I think nobody would have blinked if it was related to male pattern baldness.

Not to go all TMZ but Jada shaving her head rather than continuing to fight alopecia, and her acknowledging how much she struggled with that decision and how much it upset her was fairly recent public knowledge.

The womens are all jumping up and down congratulating him for standing up for his mrs like he's supposed to. And everybody hates Chris. So no, he's going to come out of this just fine. |

Tbf, there's lots of ways you could take it. Plenty of marriages hit a ditch, sexually and romantically. That he was open to it and didn't just go around shagging (cause, let's face it, who wouldn't have a go on Big Willy?) suggests he really loves her.
There's obviously the aspect of "is he being walked over?" and that is a possibility. But it's also 2022 and people recognise that different kinds of relationships work. If they came out and said they were swingers, would people see that differently? Maybe he really does want to do whatever makes her happy. She's in a position enough to just walk away, if she wants.
