Roasted some brocolli, courgette, capsicum and red onion with garlic and paprika. Then roasted some chickpeas. Then I roasted some potatoes. So basically I've been doing a lot of roasting. Also drafting SoWs for contractors, which is something that I am apparently allowed to do even though I have no prior experience nor any idea what I am doing.

Built a load of furniture at work, came home and had some very nice burgers with honey BBQ sauce, then tried an AI image upscaler on some album artwork with some nice results. I usually get at least 1000x1000 pixel stuff from Album Art Exchange, but it doesn't cover everything. Gonna have to embark on a project now, anything below 1000x1000 will have new life breathed into it.

Mrs D has been working hard on getting fitter, so she came for a long hike with me and the hound this morning. She's a trooper.
Then had a nice healthy lunch and everyone is crashed or otherwise occupied so I'm getting to play games for a bit. Yay.

Currently sat in an airport facing a 2.5 hour delay to Turkey. Deep joy.

Went to the shops, spent hours putting emulators on Steam Deck, played for a few minutes and remembered I never play them anyway. Now watching the Commonwealth games weightlifting

I woke up at 4am with a headache and have been slumping through the day since. Once I put the kid to bed, I'm going to treat myself to a trip to Tesco.
Mr Rock'n'Roll over here.

Just back from a music festival, three days camping. Got the car unpacked and stuff put away and now relaxing with a cold drink. Looking forward to some actual sleep later.

My boy’s 4th birthday party. Farm with animals, zip lines, cake and a huge trampoline. Kids now watching a film whilst I make toad in the hole for tea, drinking the champagne[1] I bought for my wife after accidentally locking her out of the house last week, causing her to spend the night in the hotel we always sneer at when we pass, thinking we were all dead from a gas leak.
Nice Sunday.
[1] Wife is also drinking the same champagne. I’m not a monster.

Think she should have bought you something TBH.

Haha, I did wonder about the chain of events but thought we might be missing a few nuggets of information.
"Fuck it, they're probably dead. Might as well check in to the Travelodge"

Breakfast by the pool, swam in the pool, lunch by the pool, swam in the pool again, swam in the sea, cocktails, souvlaki, more wine, children taking ridiculous photos of us all. Was lovely.

I’m in Liverpool currently doing Beatles stuff.
Today I got to play a piano in Paul McCartney’s old house just before him as he was there last Sunday. I’ve a photo but no idea how to post that here without faff.

Top day yesterday. On a mini-break to That London. Did the classic sightseeing (Buck Pal, Westminster stuff etc) before going to see Wicked, which my wife was desperate for them to see. Good shows, albeit not a story I am that fussed by. Then pizza express and home by 8.30pm. Almost no arguing or fighting, it was great.
Today is Natural History Museum, Hamleys, more food and drink (Jungle Cave for over priced burgers, but got to be done). Tomorrow is Science Museum, trip to Greenwich on the Thames in the afternoon I think. Can't really squeeze much more in as they just moan about being tired. So better to just do a few things well imo.

Love the Thames clippers (or whatever they call them these days). Used to live right by one of their piers and would stagger home via on one after a night out.

Nice one Dougs. Love a Long weekend/week in london, you really can't beat it for seeing/doing stuff. Our lad always grumped about the amount of walking, so plenty tubes/boat trips etc to see the sights and let them rest up for a bit and not do too much is a solid plan.
My sister keeps talking about moving further out, but it'll be a bit of a pain if she does. On the plus side, we'd be able to blag free accommodation that way as no room in her flat for us to stay now the boy is a surly teen, but we'd have to schlep in on the train for the major stuff...

Took a mini trip out this afternoon with the family to Chinnor railway to ride a steam train.
Quite fond of just sitting on a train watching the scenery. I've always wanted to do the Orient Express, just for the experience, but it looks expensive and a bit posh for a slob like me!

I've always wanted to do the Orient Express as well. The wife and I always like our Agatha Christie and travel and it is the perfect combo, but like you, a slob and it's too expensive to justify the cost.

I mean, for those prices... I wouldn't demand there be an actual murder for me to solve. But I'd be thinking it.

Yeah, I'm staying at my brother-in-law's house (we've done a mini-house swap) and it's a bit of a schlep (about 50 mins into London so off-peak is after 10am), but tbh, given the busy days, we haven't wanted to get up dead early anyway. Had to have a change of plan yesterday as we forgot to book the natural history museum, so are doing both museums today (including the hands on stuff at the science). It does mean a bit of a whistle stop tour of the natural history, but better than missing it at all). So yesterday we just mooched about - Covent Garden, Leicester Square, Piccadilly etc. A cultural experience for them of a different kind! Was good fun.

Went food shopping at 8am, did a right runaround getting a cheapo nail gun and nails (seems adequate for my needs), home to unpack said shopping, bought a new wetsuit from town as obviously the last one shrank, beach with the family, not many arguments so that's a result skatepark for an hour or so with the sprogs, home to cook burgers for said knobs, seems they still prefer McShit burgers to mine the mindless idiots. Booze o'clock started about an hour ago, time for some dinner.
