I feel like if he'd used one of their machines, they'd be like #14, not #1.

sold something I made to an actual random member of the public for a decent amount that reflects time spent and - dare I say - skill involved, bringing closer the day I can retire from wrangling routers and pursue the midlife crisis dream of welding by moonlight

Getting a coffee and CoCo Jambo came on the speakers. And it made me think of you, Jambowayoh. It made me think of you.

Had a renewal quote for car insurance for £1000, up from £500 each of the last few years.
Shopped around a bit and got the same thing for £230, which suddenly seems like a bit of a bargain.

I can't believe I'm actually saying this, but for the first time I can ever recall in the last two decades, we just had a stocktake night where the company sent in people who could actually count.
I mean, yes, they were so fucking slow about it that we didn't get to leave there until half-midnight, but that is apparently the cost of getting in people who can actually record numbers in an accurate fashion.

Sounds like you need to take it easy and be waited on hand and foot.

car insurance only went up £4! which i consider positive. albeit it went up to £293, which i consider an atrocity but which i suspect anyone within 50 miles of london would consider a miracle

I wish I was a 20 year student again. I wish I was a 20 year old student knowing what I know now. I’d have either not gone in the first place, or managed my money better, got better grades, drank a lot less and had a lot more romantic success than was the reality 😂

I definitely would tell 18 year old me to leave that money in the amazingly high interest account my nana opened for me, and just leave it there. I don't really understand why noone told me not to take it out tbh.

I don't really understand why noone told me not to take it out tbh. Yeah I was lucky enough that my pretty working class family had saved up enough to pay my rent for me so it was literally beer money for me. It went on beer, fast food and a huge CD collection, most of which I don’t own anymore. Looking back, my mother had a long period out of work in my final year so Christ knows how they found the money or what they went without to do so. I am thankful but what a wasted opportunity. It’s too young to be independent.

I'd definitely go back and have words with myself about dating. The drinking and studying all went fine.

I would've stayed at the party with Nikki rather than help my drunken friend get home.

I can't believe I'm saying this at my age, but just got an extension on my essay. I managed to smash out 3,300 words of toss on 'the power of maps' in less than two days. I expect quite a poor mark. I did read heaps, though and would back myself in a viva voce.

After first considering I really should clean my bicycle about 3 or 4 months ago, I've finally cleaned my bicycle. That's basically how long it takes me to do something between first notion and putting it into action.
I mean, it's probably wasn't the most comprehensive cleaning, didn't strip anything but it's definitely cleaner than it was before. I can actually see the refelctive white strip on my tires now, instead of them being covered in brake dust, and I'd forgotten my chain ring was alloy, not black.
Bike is still fucked but at least it wont be as embarrasing when I take it in to be seviced in a week or so.

Just bought a 1TB PS4 + controller off Marketplace for £50 for the youngest's Xmas present, all seems to work OK, happy with that.

I don't think he'll fall for that! I bought some chairs the other day £20 for 4 and she was a reliable seller, then I happened to see this PS4 come up and it was being sold by the same seller, so I felt that had some credence, turns out it was a 1TB and controller all good. She knew she'd advertised it too cheap - said she'd had 60 odd responses so I didn't push it and ask for a bit off!
