I washed my hair and it's really lovely and soft. Also just installed Quake.

I may have been very stoned at the time of my previous post.

A super wholesome moment from a recent King Gizzard gig. Dude pays tribute to his dead friend by getting on stage and rocking out to his friend's favourite song:

I managed to book two weeks off work today. Last week of September and first week of October. Quite pleased because I usually find that everyone else has beaten me to it and I can never get anything off in September at all.

I'm a bit of an outlier because I like Murder of the Universe best and know maybe 28% of their stuff in total. But what a fucking band as a concept, idea and practice. The realest of deals currently playing.

28% sounds high considering their output.

Would just like to re-emphasise: this place is great as ever. I've spent much of this morning talking bollocks on here in amongst doing bits and bobs and laughed multiple times.

This may not be the right thread, this hasn't happened just now but has evolved over the last year or so but I think I am clear now, we are going to get a dog and I am going to buy an old Mini. I'm not sure when these will occur but they will.

Been looking for a place for my son to live for months now, his previous shared house ended and he was due to have somewhere to move in to when the landlord pulled it with a few days left. Had to get him in an air BnB for a week and then he managed to get a month with a friend before his lease ended. Then got him a room in a house with a Palestinian student for a month and that ended a week ago and he has been sleeping in an unfurnished flat his friend was going to move into.
Finally managed to get him somewhere today in a shared house and paid his rent 6 months in advance to give him some stability whilst he finishes retraining for his job. It's been a period of unbelievable stress that has finally ended. Actually feel like I can relax for the first time in months.

Well I guess we're not that far apart to be fair, Mrs Mercury wants a Spaniel as that's what she grew up with but they're very high exercise/maintenance I believe, the youngest is paranoid about anything furry with four legs since the biting incident, I want something practical and not prone to disease, doesn't need a fuck ton of exercise but can run with me when I get back into running, to be fair the eldest is pretty au faix with anything seeing as in reality all he'll be doing is cuddling it and of course whatever we choose we need to try and make sure it/Velma the cat will be happy. Perhaps it's more about what I want than them but as I say since I'll be taking care of it about 90% then I think I should have more say. Anyway, we've (well I have because no one else thinks about this kind of shit) really only just started looking at what we need to make the garden properly secure/seriously considering this breed or that so still early days.

Spaniels can be absolutely mental, and they're gundogs (so Velma may get chased). Could be interesting. Might want something a little lazier and much more chill like a boxer or a Staffy

Like a typically moggie cat, I get that but it all seems such a PITA since the last time we bought a cat, paid £8 each for them from an advert in the local rag a decade ago but now it's all breeders or gotta get vetted by this charity or that.

In a similar vein if it was up to her Mildred the hamster would be living in a tiny plastic cage because that's how it was was 30 years ago.

It's pure instinct. Not great with a cat in the house mind you.

lazier and much more chill like a boxer Pardon me? 😁 Seriously, though. They're great family dogs. Loving, loyal, attentive, always want to be involved. And derpy as hell. Chill? Sometimes when asleep. Also quite big. Source: have a derp head on my lap right now.

I grew up with Standard Poodles. Amazing dogs and would have one in a heartbeat but my wife thinks a)too big and b) doesn't like the look. She's wrong, wrong I tell ya.

Boxer or rottie would be my choice, but our house is just too small. We look after a friend's golden doodle every once in a while and it just feels a bit too cramped.
My missus wants a daxi, but fuck that. I want a sturdy dog you can have a play with without worrying about stepping on it.
