My work paid some bonuses twice to people. And then fucked up the comms about it, ham-fistedly just telling people they were taking it back. I don't think anyone objected to it being claimed back, just the way it was handled.

The Catholic church at one point (not sure if they still do) considered them to be fish so that people could eat them on Fridays/during lent.
There you go. Another reason to dislike the Catholic church.

(For context, certain Legendary Creatures in that set will also get a limited print edition with text in the character's native language. There's also been a Leonardo da Vinci in Italian spoiler, for example, and presumably we'll get stuff like Altair in Arabic, Eivor in Norse and so on)

Just watching Cunk on Earth for the first time.
Literally crying laughing at anal bleaching. Had to pause it.

Went to the dentist today after having not been for a couple of years, (since covid I think) and he took great pleasure in telling me off about it and how it's really important to go every year. Ten minutes later he's telling me (through gritted teeth) how my teeth are absolutely fine and just need a good clean. I could hear the disappointment as he told me I wouldn't need any fillings.
And all on the NHS too.

And all on the NHS too. Had my first one on Friday since before Covid as well. My old one had retired, so I didn't know what to expect from the new one. Luckily, even though I needed a thorough scaling, still no fillings.
I tell you what though; you don't appreciate the fact that gentle dentists can exist until you've spent twenty years not knowing anything other than one being rough as hell with you. New guy wielded his tools like a surgeon, only now do I realise that the last one was basically an angry bricky by comparison.

My old dentist was gentle. This new guy could have been a member of F1 pit crew.

Yes, that additional money that appeared in my salary was intentional indeed. Got a nice email today from our president saying as much. Phew. I can now start spending it (probably mostly on the house, but hey maybe I'll splurge and get myself one new pair of Step Ones)

Occasionally little tween kids give my door a kick and run off. So I installed a camera and got familiar with the local schools.
The girl who did it today is going to be brought round by a teacher and will apologise/ clean the scuff mark.

No skin off my back. School is round the corner. Showed teacher the video. Done. Not the first, second, third, fourth or fifth time it's happened. Once or twice is kids but it's pissing me off when I'm working.

My 5 year old daughter is showing more interest in wanting to play games and old enough to grasp what to do now.
She's been playing the goose game on the switch and the pure laughter and joy she gets from the game is so heartwarming to see.

The Goose game was one of the first my daughter and I played together too, shared a load of laughs. She's nearly 7 now and we've since played through Astro, Sackboy, Lego Movie, Moving Out 1 & 2 and now onto Lego Harry Potter.

We've only got the lite so no co-op at the minute. But she was laughing and enjoying it so much I said well have to get the full fat Switch 2 when it comes out.
Astro is a great shout for what to play next.
