That's all fair, and well reasoned, but at the moment the conversation is just about continuing with the terrible deal, or rejoining. And remaining in this terrible deal is not the answer.

So bear with me. Rejoining is all about the deal we get. From my point of view, honestly I want a Star Trek Utopia. But I know we are not going to get that. My entire point is that rejoining is not the panacea a fair few of our celebrities think it is. It annoys me because they have a much bigger platform than I do.

I largely agree with that, but it's got to go some way to be a worse deal than what we've currently got right?
What those people with strong views and a large platform should be doing is sharing whatever information is out there openly, one of the main factors of the Brexit result was a wilful lack of real information and the impact leaving would have. Even EU law experts couldn't comprehend the myriad of implications from the hundreds of rules and law impacted, so how could your local neighbourhood gammon?

That reminded me to break out the lock picking set I got during the lockdown to get gud at it I accidentally called someones bluff about that. He was casually bragging one day that he had bought some lock picks during lockdown, had been practicing and was really good. I asked him to open a server cab I had lost the key to and it was like watching a chimp trying to operate laptop

I asked him to open a server cab I had lost the key to and it was like watching a chimp trying to operate laptop It seems to have been a common choice of new hobby during the lockdowns, though I profess exactly 0 skill at it. The practice lock the sets provide opens just by looking at it, so I can imagine it providing a lot of false confidence

Had a larger amount go in from my company today, saw it coming in my banking app yesterday and kept refreshing the work payslip portal to see what the hell happened and not get carried away (because probably a mistake). Today the payslip is there and says bonus and an extra amount over the top of my usual monthly salary...tax man took a fair chunk, but still been left with a fairly decent wedge.
I'm going to put it aside for now though, as it was unexpected and I checked with my manager if there were any expected bonuses coming (and they don't know of any) so I'm now sceptical it's intentional. I really want to get excited about it, but part of me is cautious. So I guess this is a mildly positive, might be very positive in the future post.

Oh it's not a big enough wedge for that. I hope... 😂 I'm still uneasy about spending it yet, will hold on for a while I think.

Cash it all in at the casino, put half on red and half on black and sit back as everyone applauds.
