If I tell you what it was for it'll make me look bad, or at least slightly foolish, and we can't have that on the internet. So all's I'll say is I was awarded £3080.59, and I get paid tomorrow as well I appear to be a fucking idiot 90% of the time on here if that's any help. So you won't look more foolish than I do.

Is this the way they say the future's meant to feel?

Woke up to no phone this mor... noontime. Checked findmy, last place was a dead end road in the woods deep in the ghetto. Shit. Tried to contact Uber driver, no joy, started to be convinced it was a gonner, that someone else got in the car and helped themselves. There goes a bunch of money plus almost two months of photos, including kid's 9th birthday ones.
Then able to reach him. He has it, is out of town till tomorrow night but the phone is safe! Yay!
So that was positive. Not nearly as positive as what happened between getting home in that Uber and finally getting up out of bed but you can't has that story.
Mostly because I don't remember the squishy details.

'Squishy details' suggests you paid a big person to squash you. People are into that, I saw it on a Channel 5 documentary.

A bunch of people (2?!) just joined the forum. They seem to be familiar faces from EG? Not sure what prompted the sudden resurrection, but yay!?

I think it might even be 4 or 5! Some old regs from back in the day found us via a Twitter conversation it seems. Welcome back Retroid, Lutz, billdoor, Modishnouns. (Apologies if I missed someone)

Hopefully we don't have anyone with epilepsy on this forum or cubby may have just killed them.

(Apologies if I missed someone) Hey Dougs. /waves Jonestheacribe mentioned this place in passing on a Twitter thread of about 6 EG-ers. Never knew it existed. Thought we'd stop by, say hi.

And back on topic, not that it's happened today yet, but I'm off to donate a tonne of platelets and plasma. So that's positive I guess.
Also, it's Friday.

Lucky you can, here in Switzerland and other countries such as Australia, our manky UK blood is unwanted (mad cow). Was quite pissed off when they refused me.

Urgh, that's a bit shit Ecosse. And given how (relatively) few cases there were it seems overkill?

I was hoping my stock would have risen a couple of notches after providing the forum with my knowledge in the way of the breadbin in the boxing and MMA threads. Don't listen to casuals and wannabes who have never fought a round in their life, listen to your Uncle Muttler, I'll save you a few quid next time

How do you have photos on a phone in 2022 that aren’t synced with the cloud via Google/Apple whatever? I save a huge number of memes and images, plus screenshots of texts from the lunatic mother of my child, to my phone during the week. I don't want that shit uploaded to my goggle photos or icloud. So I manually C&P the pictures at the end of each month. Without fail. Unless I've forgotten

How do you have photos on a phone in 2022 that aren’t synced with the cloud via Google/Apple whatever? Cos I don't trust Google with my pics? I do have them backed up elsewhere though. Lucky you can, here in Switzerland and other countries such as Australia, our manky UK blood is unwanted (mad cow). Was quite pissed off when they refused me. Here too, at least last time I looked into it.

My photos go straight to Google once they are on my PC. Then I'll chuck them up on Amazon, videos to MS.

Think personally I'd rather have it all uploaded and cleanup the cloud regularly, ensuring that no precious photos are lost but hey ho/

Google photos and Dropbox for me. Every once in a while I'll move all of the photos from Dropbox to the pictures folder on my PC, which then gets backed up to my NAS which backs everything up to Crashplan. Then a couple of rotating off-site backups on top of that for the lols.
I lost a load of irreplaceable photos once. Never again!

The other thing is turning on icloud storage means I can't have control over exactly how much space photos take up on my phone.
This is the first time I've lost my phone since it was an old Nokia and I'd been on a multi day bender. I think it wound up on living in the sand dunes. Or maybe in the back of a booth at The Schooner.

I just dropped a piece of baguette and, after bouncing off a few things on the way own, it landed on the carpet butter side UP.
