Probably will have been hit by cancel culture before that.

They were under the wrong chandelier! Can you believe it?? And then they turn their heads to look at the broken one really really slowly. It's a classic. All the kids still talk about it.

Given my 16 year old nephew's near obsession with Only Fools I'm not sure all the kids are unaware of it.

I do it at work all the time. I am significantly older than most of my team and my 80/90s cultural references fall flat a lot of the time. Even today, I made a joke about Judge's Houses (before a meeting with the judiciary) and got blank looks. (I am aware it's not terribly funny but there we go, it amuses me to shoe horn these in). I’d have given you a blank look too for Judge’s Houses.

And maybe kids just realise only fools and horses is a bit shit.

Depends which ones they are watching?
Grandad era? Uncle? Or the very unnecessary ones after they become millionaires?

I find the grandad upsetting, uncle Albert was a hoot.

Last year I was producing sessions in schools as part of the BBC's 100th birthday celebrations. The sessions involved showing clips of classic BBC shows, and I'd say it's 50/50 that your average teenager has heard of Only Fools.
However, I do feel confident in saying that for the youth of today Del Boy falling through the bar isn't as funny as Dawn French stepping in a deep puddle on The Vicar of Dibly.

What is the point of a live action Moana film, OG is perfect.

I hope they cgi Jermaine Clement’s face onto a big crab like a medieval painting of a cat for it

What is the point of a live action Moana film, OG is perfect. All the animated films are basically perfect as they are, none of these "live action" remakes are necessary. Sometimes they find some quirky alternative angle - Cruella - or expand the story in an interesting way - Dumbo - but generally it's just the film you know, forty minutes longer, with less appealing photo-real versions of the cute cartoon characters. And I say all this as someone who's broadly positive about them! I even like a lot of them! Moana, to be fair, is mostly two humans on an adventure so makes a bit more sense than, say, Lion King. And it also makes sense to do it whilst Dwayne Johnson is still able to play Maui.

Incidentally, unless I see Avatar 5 on opening weekend or something, there's a good likelihood I'll be fifty fucking years old when I finally watch it. Christ on a bike. I was 27 when I saw the first one!

That doesn't look totally terrible.
On the plus side, at least we won't have to watch him attempt to run if he's sitting in a car the whole time...
