I actually like Dark Fate. I mean it's not a classic, but it had some actually very good set pieces, and I like the keep-it-simple story.
In still think 3 is the nadir of the series. Genesys wasn't exactly good, but there wasn't a point where I thought "the fuck is this shit?" like there I did with 3. My biggest issue with is that the casting wasn't great and the action felt a bit lightweight.
Salvation is fine. I don't think an all-future film is really that interesting though, as it's a bit limited in scope. It would need to have some good character conflict otherwise it would just be a bit predictable.

I really loved the T-600s (I think that was what they were) in Salvation and was hoping for a lot more of them. Thought they were awesomely stompy and creepy.

Dark Fate is just a great film though. Although it is quite surprising how much is borrows from other post-T2 Terminator films considering it's meant to disregard them.
I recall reading the plot leak before it was released and thought one particular aspect of it was ridiculous. As it stands, it's just as silly on screen but it works, because Arnie.

Dark Fate is fine. Its an ok, 6/10 romp and probably the third best one. The problem is, after the second one, none of the sequels ever justified their existence and felt like anything more than a cash grab.
Its harsh for Dark Fate to be the one that killed the franchise but the groundwork was laid like 20 years ago.

His redemption arc is starting soon Its true. He’s pretty good in that new Mormon murder drama on Disney+

I remember watching Salvation at the cinema when it came out and thinking it was really good. I never watched it again until I put it on about 6 months ago. It's not.

Yeah, i think Genisys (i never even know how the hell to spell it!) killed Dark Fate, although the franchise had lost a lot of shine by that point already.

Watched the first two episodes of Light and Magic and I can't recommend it enough; great interviews coupled with the ILM early days footage. Sounds right up my boulevard, thanks for the heads up. I really should explore the depths of D+ a bit more. I've one episode to go and I've really enjoyed each episode. Lucas almost swears when he describes coming back from London, seeing ILM have spaffed half the effects budget, and he's got fuck all to show for it. It's great!

"hate" is a strong word. He's not offensively bad or anything, he's just kind of... there. He really is. Or was.

It wasn't realised but I can see why they thought it was a good idea, before fucking up the execution. This is in contrast to some of the "humour" in 3, which I can't believe anyone ever thought was a good idea. Specifically the Elton John glasses or the T-X making her boobs perkier.

Ha, I actually loved T3 in the cinema. I lol'd at all the funny bits and everything.
I saw it again a year or so later and didn't lol so much. Or at all. I must have been off my tits when I first saw it.
That said, as mentioned previously, it does have some things going for it.

Yeah.
Though I watched a fan edit where they took out all those humorous bits, and it was very dry. I think a few bits like the boobs bit would have been fine, they just overdid it.
But the main problem was that John was (a) horribly miscast, and (b) basically useless. He's supposed to be this great hero and inspirational leader and he's just kinda rubbish and Clare Danes is the only one who even vaguely has any competence.
I still think T3's basic plot is fine, it just needed a recast and rewritten John. The ending is still great.

I honestly hate it.
The ending is okay, but not worth suffering through the preceding few hours.

Just seen an advert for a Sky Original called Black site. Has Jai Courtney and Jason Clarke in it.
I was genuinely surprised not to see Sam Worthington and Taylor Kitsch in it to complete the blandest cast ever.

Jai Courtney was good in Spartacus, albeit not in a major major role. But he's just seemed out of place in everything else I've seen him in.

I just found out the character in Attack of the Clones who tries to sell Obi Wan Death Sticks is called Elan Sleazebaggano. Really.
Why do people watch Star Wars again?

There’s really no reason to watch anything beyond the The Terminator in my (correct) opinion

I thought Jai Courtney was great in the otherwise terrible Suicide Squad. Was surprised he didn't get more screen time in the second one.

I don't think Jason Clarke is a bland actor. He has the blandest name, sure, but he's pretty good in most things.
Maybe not Genishit.

Jai Courtney played a decent shit head in Terminal List. I definately wanted to see him get fucked up so, he obviously did well.

Jai Courtney would make a good Mr Potato Head in a live action Toy Story.
Well, I say good, he'd at least look the part.
Because he looks like a potato.

Which I would totally watch.

Was telling the wife and sister-in-law about this yesterday. It's fucking bonkers. I don't recall it happening back in the day but I would have been roughly the same age as the pupils who he shared a class with. I'm very interested in seeing it and hearing more of the story.
