Yeah. I still couldn’t tell you what it’s about. Amazingly silly fun though.

Yeah it's a game that I found absolutely infuriating but absolutely amazing with it. Bizarre .

I felt the story kind of lost its way in the second half of the game, and it was very much the combat and just fun of playing that carried me through.
If they make a Bitterblack Isle style expansion for it, I’d definitely be back for it.

After my sojourn to Bhatal I realised I travelled there too soon. I spent a good 5-6 hours slogging my way around the rocky landscape looking all over for a crystal so I could safely port back. Not a one anywhere. Decided to just head back to vermund and literally if Id just done the next quest, stupid coronation thing and I would've got a fuffin crystal.
Anyways the whole warrior vocation was a slog, literally and figuratively. Swinging a massive hammer around, while doing the damage is so sloooooooow. I was going to be mage next but I ended up speaking to some guy at the coastal town that is slowly rebuilding. Weird interaction, like we've met before and he just said, AHH the arisen and boom. New vocation unlocked. Wtf? I feel I've accidentally acquired that somehow.
Anyhow, mystic spearhand is cool AF. I already had a double headed flaming spear thing so I'm charging about like a Dragonball character. My pawn Erin, she's fully tarted up and getting loads of action now. I feel I have found the key to pawn success.

Is the general consensus between other players that the Bhatal portion of this game is accelerated? It feels half done or like a lot of content is missing. I don't feel like I've had reason to do stuff quest/story wise just 'x happened, goto y'. Such that I thought I was progressing stuff to some degree and ended up in a boss fight and completing the game yet nothing feels resolved or I've missed some stuff. What was the deal with the giant stone guy that just emerged from the sea?!? Did I even need to fight it? I did look cool in the distance as I ran down the hillside but wtf? During the credits I spoke to the ghostly guy that's randomly appeared in my game, twice and ended back on the dragon. Shit not again. I quit and reloaded and let the throne credits play out and I got a cheevo that I was now the Sovran. Then back to title screen. NG+? I loaded back in and it was back at the credits scene so I spoke again and I was back on the dragon pre fight ... Google!! Spoiler within the spoiler for people who aren't here yet used the god sword on myself and we both died and landed in the sea to brine munched. I can't tell if this has pissed off the ghost guy or not but now I'm in Zelda's dark world. The sky is red, sea has gone, human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together... MASS HYSTERIA!
I can walk in areas I couldn't get to before and now port crystals have appeared at various locations. This game man, it was already weird and I just keep remebering random shit that happens because some stranger acosts you and says you do this, you do this now then disappears. The Sellsword guy that just appears for no reason and then forced some odd friendship on me. Then again later with an oxcart and then on the bridge where we fight. It's like something's been building but it means more to him than me. I was a mistic spearhand so dashed in spear first to stagger him and then used the skill that just force-pushed him straight off the bridge. Done! No cheevo, no fanfare, no comment from anybody. Like Indy shooting that guy in the street. Gonna have to stop typing cos this post is looooooong and I could keep going for days

Dark world done. I swapped vocations back to archer as I'm preferred it and bought the the best bow from old dragon man. Started from the outer locations and then working in, I have evacuated all of the people.
Unfortunately I skipped the end cinematic because I though it was just another dragon entry, cut to credits and me riding a dragon /facepalm
Anyways, while in dark world I unlocked 2 new vocations, magic archer and wayfarer. Decided to pickup some other lop level gear for the magic archer to take into Ng+
Started new game with the same arisen and brought back Erin and I'm just finishing off spearhand. Had to bring Erin back as the main pawn, can't have a new one after that ending.
Going for a full map explorer and to round off all the vocations

I have spent so many hours this weekend scouring nooks and crannies of the starting map in NG+
Rounded out the spearhand to max and started on Magic Archer. Think I've found my forever vocation. This thing has AOE for days but can also focus down big guys like nothing else so far. Drake dead in about 15 seconds. Yes please.
It's amazing just how much even in the opening section of the game I missed the first time around. Found loads of tokens, a quest for a girl up north to give her grimoires, a tunnel under a bridge that would come up inside a house (tho I did it in reverse by shooting the door from a window). Also that dragon I deleted, that took place in Melve. Right in the main square with all the razed buildings.
I'm obsessed with this game

Never played the first one but personally I think I'd find it hard to go backwards to it. I really hope they do some dlc for this.
I'm going to go and rinse that stupid warty dragon up on the mountain ruins this time. I didn't do him last time because I was a warrior and never went back. There was also a giant ruined ramparts/castle area up north that I briefly explored but got one shot by the dragon. I'd been away from town for ages and had pretty much levelled the archer to max in that duration. Decided to port back to town and get some now skills and the story never took me back there so forgot about it.

There is one thing that's cool about the first one and that's the fact the archer can also use melee daggers. It sounds like a small thing but it's an absolute game changer imo

One thing to know about the second half of the game is that there’s a load of content you only really find by exploring. If you just follow the main story you’ll miss lots of stuff.
Do quests as they arise (good for XP and levelling your vocations) but mostly don’t be afraid to wander off the main paths and explore. There are lots of caves and secrets to find.
If in doubt, check the map - you can usually see where there’s some fog to uncover.

I still need to finish this. I was just towards the first end point, then got distracted.
Maybe once the nights draw in a bit more...
crashvoodoo's excited postings made me remember how much fun it was to just explore and poke about stuff and see what i could find!

If in doubt, check the map - you can usually see where there’s some fog to uncover. I was doing my usual which is exploring all over and then randomly dipping in for a quest then off to explore again. I practically turned bear grylls for a marathon session and I'd spend so much time out in the wilds that I'd fully levelled the archer vocation (3-10) before rejoining civilisation. I came back , bought all the upgrades and then ... swapped to warrior. Turns out the dragon that was in Melve was actually the start of a quest and I completely missed it the first time. Shits gone down with Ulrika-ka-ka and the envoy guy is not happy so Lennart has tasked me with finding her. The envoy guy was a proper cunt mind so I followed him back out of the village and just as he was getting to the oxcart, ran and scooped him up and huffed him straight off the bridge. Melt ya bastard. I saved Gregor this time, the Dulahan did not stand a chance against 2 sorcs, a fighter to draw agro and me on the backline fucking hosing magick missiles at him. /Hi-fuckin-five girls. Man I live for that at the moment.

Will give it a shot. Bought it primarily to play on steam deck cos it looks to run great.
Tried it on pc and it does not like ultra wide. Found a mod to fix and cranked it up it now the mouse input is off by about and inch rendering the inventory useless. Will have to resort to pad.

What in the ever loving fuck did I just find up North. I cant believe I missed this on my first playthrough, I literally went into the cave that leads here and harvested the whitecobble. I obviously missed the other tunnel. Can you fail this ?

3 down. Not sure on the answer to the 4th so I've skipped to the 5th riddle. I've got to retrace my steps and find my first ever seekers token. Well fuck, I've been collecting them like crazy ... I've got no idea! 😕

117 hours in and I'm utterly gobsmacked by this entire setpiece, I can't stop thinking how cool it was and just happening on the location like that. Loads of craggy broken steps.leading up the mountain. Looking out below and all you can see is fog making it feel like you've above the clouds.
Voice work is brilliant and the animation of the eyes and head are so unsettling. At any moment you feel like it could bite you in half.
Fucking love shit like this in games, so glad I don't go looking shit up. The spectacle could so easily have been ruined if I knew about it beforehand.

It felt like the moment was kind of ruined for me at launch by it being used as the thumbnail of countless YouTube vids. Must've been so cool to just wander up that mountain and come face to face with the unnerving fucker!

I've spent 2 nights trying to find my first seeker token. I've been all the north east of Vernworth. The problem is I literally knew the first token I found (on playthrough 1) but NG+ has seen me ripping through the countryside finding places I never saw before. I have scoured the landscape like some sweaty litle metal detectorist, but I was having no luck.
Then finally with the trickster augment for token finding I heard it. That sound, that beautiful sound ... and there it was, the shiny golden disc of frustration lay before me just ripe for the taking.
ROOOOAAARRRRRR as big stupid fucking ogre flew in and 2 footed flying kicked me in the face. At which point the entire games physics system just shat itself and yeeted me into orbit and I gracefully sailed over Melve and landed near Vernworth capital. Man you couldn't make this shit up.
