Right, got an archer sorted and a mage for support. Not sure why they required a moniker along with the name i gave them, which is odd. Anyhoo, ready for late tomorrow night now. I'm guessing it's like Forza Horizon where it's got a selection voice of lines for the name you pick, but any text dialogue will use the name you type in. Annoyingly it didn't have one that really fits for my absolutely awful rendition of my tux cat. |

IIRC the second name is for online purposes where the main name may be a bit too naughty.

I’ve made my character. Sally Gouda. She is an archer. She will be accompanied by her hulking beastren pawn Billy Biopsy. He is a fighter. I think hijinks is going to ensue. I’m going mixed genders because I’ve decided this first playthrough will be a romantic comedy. With griffins.

Messed around with the creator myself this evening. As I have no imagination, he is a generic white male with a passing resemblance to me. Picked archer as that’s usually my play style, but it sounds like there is a lot of flexibility and it’s easy to switch things up. So all good.
Probably won’t really be able to get into it until next week, but looking forward to hearing how you guys are getting on over the weekend.

DD is like the essence of the Benny Hill theme music put into the form of an action rpg. Anything can happen at any moment; a quiet stroll in the country can suddenly become a crescendo of comedy, chaos, and utter bedlam with pawns being tossed around by giant ogres, thrust off cliffs, sometimes whilst on fire, or just screaming random phrases as a pack of goblins suddenly descend on you out of nowhere. You try to flee only to run into a pack of sleeping wolves who then join the melee. Sometimes attacking you, sometimes the goblins. Absolutely no one knows what is going on. This can sometime takes place in the pitch black with only torches to illuminate the carnage taking place around you. And the combat and class systems are really good! This is one of the best posts I've read in years. It's exactly what makes the game so good. You simply *have* to play it. |

I see it's at mostly negative reviews on Steam due to the volume of microtransactions. But reading them all just reminds me of everyone freaking out about mtx in DMC5 when they were the most worthless transactions ever, not at all game breaking as getting orbs in the game is so trivial. Could even get a higher rate of orbs for free when using Dantes hat. Vote with your wallet I guess, but I'd also highly suggest reading up on on bad it is and from impressions, everything on the list of transactions are all easily attainable in game. The transactions are there for the laziest people.

All the air is pulled from the bottom and pushed out the top. If it's fluffed up it will be noisy as hell. |

With a bit of character re-gigging Karen and the Pussymans adventure has begun!
Would have liked a bit more time with it this morning but unfortunately life disagrees.
Frame rate has been alright for me on pc so far fluctating between 60 and 150fps 😂

Yeah. You can pay to fast travel apparently, which is a little at odds with the director's comments on fast travel a while back.
Largely fluff that you can ignore by the sound of it.

A lot of the negative steam reviews are the issues with denovo as well as micro transactions. I don't care about the latter but I'll wait until there's a bit more steam deck performance info first. I've only just got into Elden Ring after owning it since release.

By all accounts, you have no chance of playing on Steam Deck natively.
I played until 2am, which was silly, and then decided to very quickly check how well it could stream to steam deck (from ps5). At 3:30am I decided that yes, it streams quite well.
I feel fucking awful now though.
