Man, the PS5 looks substantially sharper than the Series X, weird. 25fps in towns, absolutely fuck that. Will keep an eye on patches and how they can sort that out. The RE4 Remake had the same issue, albeit on PS5 instead. Despite being the same resolution something with the checkerboard reconstruction and post processing had gone awry. Capcom eventually fixed it there, I'd hope they do the same here. Wouldn't hold my breath mind you. As for performance in general, it's a complete no man's land shit show quite frankly. Series X fares a little better, and if you've got a 120hz VRR TV you can make things a little more tolerable with LFC. But otherwise it's basically a wash. Doesn't really matter if one's running at 35fps and the other at 37fps, they'll both judder with uneven frame times like it's going out of fashion.

Don't think it does have frame gen, just your regular upscaling DLSS and FSR. Guess someone will probably mod it in or it could be added at some point. well colour me all confused. I was convinced I'd seen it in a video from Nvidia a month or so ago but looking through the videos of the settings screens again it's all super Res stuff. EDIT: i did www.youtube.com/watch?v=mAb4a5CsfU0

Just murder every NPC in the game and the framerate will be much higher. maybe Thanos was a progamer

I still don't understand why Capcom are unable to implement a frame cap limit. It would take about 5 minutes. It's so weird.

Yeah. I generally couldn’t give shit if something is 30 fps or 60 fps. Wildly uncapped framerates are awful though.

Indeed. I'd be happy with a 30 frame cap tbh, if that meant a bit more consistency across the board. If we had that, and they managed to negate the dips with whatever method they had available (I don't know tech stuff so lets just say tiny magic griffins) then I'd be very pleased.

It's also interesting that something is going on with their QA teams as to why both PS5 and Series X always have visual bugs to separate them which get flagged by the community on day one.

Unfortunately the tiny magic griffins are bandwidth limited on xbox, and on ps5 they are simply too tiny. The series S had to replace them entirely with tiny magic dachshunds, which are adorable but have complex health problems. That said, I've just bought the ps5 version. Fuck it.

Do you think it's possible to design some goggles that somehow smooth out fps dips? like those joke shop x ray specs. just spit-balling here.

30 is horrible as it makes the controls feel muddy, I really struggle with it.

It always seems to be *these* sorts of games, or is that just me? You know, predominantly Japanese developed Soulslike RPGs.
They've all got uncapped frame-rates, or in the rare cases they do have a cap frame pacing issues are rampant instead.

I am a bit underwhelmed with how familiar it looks in videos. I’m probably just jaded old fuck, but gameplay aside, even some of the quests feel like reboots of the original rather than a sequel and all the japes and stories from reviewers are ones I had years ago.
Gryphon interruption? Check. Pawns say the darndest things? Check. Escorting a cart? Check. Rescuing people from wolves? Check. Pushing an ogre off a cliff? Check.
Capcom are a bit like Ubisoft in that this will be half price in about 3 months, so I think I will wait til then, when it should also have few patches under its belt.
I’ll probably buy it tomorrow.

Christ, it's like being at the wailing wall in here!
It'll be fine. If it's complete bullshit, they'll have to patch it anyway from the backlash

Don't get me wrong I can't wait to get cracking, I just don't like low framerates! Yeah feels very much like the end days of the 360 where everything ran terribly. I am fine with 30fps though as long as it's got some good motion blur and is evenly framed paced. I've actually played a lot of games this Gen at 30fps just for the visuals.

I think it’s because the censors demand the Japanese pixelate all framerates to shit. Even if you squint really hard you’re not getting that 60fps.

Am just gonna have to get on with it basically

So there's no mention of 2 when playing the game, the title comes up as just Dragon's Dogma.

I've seen a couple of PS5 live streams and it really doesn't look to bad . Was mainly combat. Can't speak for in towns though.
Patch a few more frames in and bobs your uncle.
