Nice one with the trainer, not for me though, I pre-ordered as soon as I could, not watching any vids or impressions, looking forward to going in fresh in a few weeks time.

It‘s not an exaggeration when I say I haven’t looked forward to a game that much in years. It looks (just like the first one did) as if they copied the kind of game I dreamed about as a kid, when I played Ultima, or read Prince Valiant, and a dozen similar things, directly from my brain, and turned it into reality.

It does look really good.
I kind of wish I could import my main character and my pawn from OG DragDog, as it'd save me twatting around on the customisation screen for quite so long!

From everything I've seen this looks like a pure 30fps game. I don't mind that, I just hope it's actually a locked 30, compared to the earlier games.

It's pretty much the same as before then, fps and save game files wise I take it.
30fps is a bit poo, but for dragons dogma, I'll happily sup it up.
I've not actually read much about it yet and kinda glad I haven't because even without a job at the moment, I also can't live without a new dragons dogma so the surprise will be nice.
Only game of its type to scratch all the itches in my opinion.

Funnily enough, I was playing dark arisen last night. I was curious about where I was up to. Turns out I'm a level 61 archer and my 70's funk mage is also kitted out pretty well too.
I've spunked some rift crystals on some level 80 pawns (warrior and sorc respectively) as the ones I borrow off you lot in here (Mia and some warrior I can't remember) as they were level 61 too, so I've outgrown them a bit now.
Seems I've done quite a bit too. Next quest line is basically, "Go to the tainted mountain and have a massive fight", so I've binned that off and hoovering up some of the "Kill 150 undead bastards at the abbey" type quests.
And it was glorious! The new Sorc has this fantastic fire storm type spell. It's like the whole area sounds like it's being bombed to fuck, and there are explosions everywhere.

I still don't know if I want to see a demo. I've remained completely blind to most of the articles, because if I love it as much as the original, or love it even more, I really want that to be an unknown experience.
But I also really want to fucking see it!

I watched just enough footage to get really hyped, then decided to avoid everything else. I've already pre-ordered the game, so I'd probably skip a demo seeing as we're just over a fortnight away from launch; still, if it encourages newcomers to give the sequel a shot (and maybe even pick up the original as well), that can only be a good thing.
I'd like to see DD2 succeed, both critically and commercially - the devs deserve it, and maybe it'd mean we wouldn't have to wait another decade for DD3! |

Yes I did the same and then got giddy and stopped.
I'm still looking for a job so it's taking the piss a bit by shelling out for it when I need to watch my cash, but it's a sacrifice I'm prepared to make for these guys.
