Touched on this in the Fortnite thread yesterday which has just added gyro. It feels completely alien to me and I don't think I'll ever get used to it, but a lot of people online seem to be swearing that it's going to revolutionise console shooters. I'm a bit skeptical, mainly because I'm fucking terrible with them.

Used gyro controls briefly in a PS4 game when it was a new and shiny thing and never touched it again. Can't remember if Astrobot had it. If so that'll be my single use for this gen. Total pish!
From an accessibility point of view I guess it's a good thing for people to have options though.

I lean into corners in GT too! Don't know why, that never happens when actually driving. I’ve always done it. I suspect it’s something like a need to feel physical forces, that you would in a car, which we’re compensating for by leaning, to get a better sense of control / being in tune with the virtual car. Either that or it’s like pushing an elevator button multiple times as if that will make it move faster. |

Woo! Just finished the final Cauldron. That big T-Rex boi was a bitch to fight, but I finally managed to take it down. Wasted a lot of time planting electric trip wire and traps when I should have just crafted more blast ones to blow it up. Didn't realise the electro ones didn't damage enemies, only paralysed them.
Don't think I'll bother with the hunting grounds, but I'll probably do the little weapon tutorials next for some quick XP before mainlining the story.
actually nevermind, I'll skip the weapon tutorials too. Just want to finish it by the weekend. Glad I did the cauldrons and bandit camps though.

Got it downloaded on the PS4 and the PS5, patched up and ready to unlock in an hour. PS5 version is definitely PS5. It even has a little PS5 logo on it.

Bought the PS4 disc this morning and have now set the PS5 version downloading. Was pretty easy, just put the disc in and the price of the digital PS5 version changed to "free". Should be ready to play when I get home from work. Also, caved and bought Cyberpunk off the back of the trial version. With Elden Ring arriving in a week that's me sorted for games for a while.
